Fireball
Stride's bio-lab, at the height of its usage, was unimaginable. Creatures great and small, in cages or in jars or frozen in a tube, colours and furs and feathers and tusks and horns and antlers and legs and many organisms so small they could barely be seen with a microscope, and micoscopes COVERED the surfaces. Now of course, it was a lot less interesting. There was less light, the place hadn't been re-hooked up to the mains after The Falout, so it was running on emergency power. Through froste dglass of frozen tubes still stood some bizzare abominations, and there was at least or dead body of a creature who for one reason or an other had been left behind and had since died.

Once a definition for life itself, there was hardly any signs of life in the Biolab now. Save for a hedgehog, bronzen, wearing glasse sin the dark, hunched over a desk with a small desk-light glowing a sombre yellow as he read through the mountains of files that he had surrounde dhimself with. He grank cola and coffee, to keep him awake.

The other creature was Alice, who'd been seated in front of the only actual television monitor, and on the only sofa, with a tray of microwaved finsh fingers and chips. She had a new teddy bear and a blanket in case she needed to sleep. And in case something went wrong with her sleep, a sawed-off shotgun leant against at the desk next to Fireball.

So far she hadn't caused much trouble. But he hadn't really explained to her that she had been kidnapped and that he wasn't sure if he was ever going to return her to Azul.

He looked at his watch. He'd expected Ryan and Sky to be here by now. Those juniors were either being extra careful or just weren't smart enough to find him. Or Azul had locked them up. Either way, it didn't make a difference. They didn't seem to understand what was going on, they didn't have enough experience. But Firebal lwas learning more and more about what was going on as he read on inot the night.

El Perro de Azul
~Alice never was much of a trouble maker anyway, she was happy to have a new blanket, a new teddy, hey, she even had new cartoons to listen to! Everything was all peachy keen with her! At least it should have been, she had been quietly murmuring something to the bear for about 5 minutes now...~

The room's entire color scheme shifts from its dull light blue metallic color to dark grey...in fact, everything in the room does so, everything in the room shifts to their respective shades of grey, with the exception of Alice and Fireball. The shift happens quickly, with only a split second between the blue to the sinister grey, then the grey back to blue...everything looked as though nothing happened. However...if one listened very carefully, they might hear the quiet ramblings of a certain massive hedgehog, very subtly filling the hallways with mathematical nonsense, threats...and gentle footsteps...

Chaos Sky
Sky still stood outside the concrete masterpiece formerly known as the Slywhin labs, where 6 massive soldier stood before him. And one of them was...bowing!? Such a strong looking soldier was bowing before Ryan like a king? And in his hand was something, it looked like a note. He wasn't quite as nervous now. But still cautious, he stepped over to Ryan.

"What's going on?" He asked.

Antipode
*Alice shuddered slightly and hugged the bear tighter.*

"You feel it, too... Don't you, Teddy..."

She can feel the footsteps... but can't put an exact position on them, despite her excellent ears. She only knows that they're close... too close... yet so far away at the same time.

*She cranes her head around the back of the chair.* "Mister Fireball...?"

Ryan
*The hedgehog had no clue what was going on. He didn't know how to respond to the bow. Usually he was good at thinking on his feet... But this was too weird. He'd never been a leader nor has he even seen this guy much less been to this place. This was all just tooo weird. Could it be that since Stride died, they needed a new hedgehog?*

He stood on his toes to reply back to Sky. "I think they have a strong respect for hedgehogs, since this is Stride's lab and all. I'm not sure if he was a king or somethin' though. Too, me this is all kinda weird."

Chaos Sky
No, no, he thought to himself. That can't be it, there's something strange about these guys. A letter 'G' bodly represented itself on the uniform of the soldier. It was a mark, and Slywhin, from his knowledge, had no resemblence, connection, or marking of the letter 'G'. But then something else smacked into his head. What did El Perro say he worked for? Gora...gorv...oh god, what was it? Gorvacian? Yeah, that was it! Maybe that was what the G so bodly represented. It was a thought. These soldiers were pretty darn big, big enough to seem like they had been genetically tampered with. But Sky still noticed the peice of paper gripped in one of the soldiers hands, extended out to Ryan. He shrugged and gently took it out of his hands.

"Reading this might help clear things up, it seems adressed to us, or at least, you."

The paper was short, sweet, and to the point.

~To Ryan and Sky: My hatred for hedgehogs has been toned down to a much more personal level. Until I have further reason in this city, Fireball is the only hedgehog whos proved himself foolish. In order to ensure your and Chaos' safety, this team of shock troopers has been sent as your personal soldiers. Do with them as you please.

Note of interest: If Alice's nightmares accelerate to the point of "scenario-altering", run.~

"Yeah, that's what i thought. These guys are positioned under El Perro. Quite thoughtful of him to send us backup. We might need them to get Alice back."
He gazed up at the massive soldier. "Um...at ease?" He said in confusion. This was a new experience He turned toward Ryan.

"Do you have any particular ideas for our next move?" He was all ears.

Ryan
*Heh. El Perro was definately up to something. No doubt. For now, he'd keep this to himself. He would never let his guard down to anyone. Possibly not even to Sky. Who knows what El Perro told him in the conferance room. Perhaps... Perhaps it was best to keep Alice. But then Azul would be getting the wrong picture about hedgehogs... Much of this was being thrown around inside of the hedgehog's mind. But he knew in the end what he must do. He'd find Fireball. Maybe Ryan had figured out what he was doing.*

"Let's get into the lab then and take back Alice. We'll have to do it peacefully though."

Fireball
Fireball didnt pick up the noise. He was too busy trying to speed-read almost all of the documents that Azul had brought to the city.

"What's wrong, Alice, sweetie? You want a glass of water?"

He didn't look up, carrying on, oblivious.

Antipode
"No..." she replied quietly and stayed huddled in her chair, trying to block out the noise invading her mind, and the irrational sensations of fear that accompanied it.

"Shh, it's okay, Teddy... It's okay... don't be scared..." She held the toy tightly and whispered into its ear.

Fireball
Fireball was reading black print on white paper. The gray-scale shift hadn't caught his attention, he was oblivious to anything going wrong.

"Okay, just tell me if you see something scary, alright?"

He was too distracted to notice thew stupidity of what he just told the blind girl.

Chaos Sky
He was pleased to see Ryan so eager to get things started. It was now time, more than ever, to think things over carefully and clearly, as of there was no worse time to screw up than now. Quickly, but ever so cunningly, he tossed ideas in his head, only to cook up a semi-decent scheme. Semi decent to him, at least. He turned his body and faced his new crew, looking over all of the usefull equipment that they had brought along.

"I've got a plan, somewhat of one, anyways," He said strongly, so that Ryan and the soldiers could hear him clearly.
"We need a soldier or two to use heat seaking goggles to get a good location in the building. Once we do that, we block of any exit so Fireball can't escape. Now, from there we either talk to Fireball nicely, or things get out of control and we do it the hard way. We use smokescreen to lower his vision, and sine our soldiers have thermal visors, they will still be able to see him. If worst comes to worst, we tranqualize him." He started thinking to himself. Geez, do these guys even have sedatives? He didn't want to bother El Perro by warping back and asking, so he just shrugged it off.

Turning back toward Ryan, he went back to a more relaxed posture and normal tone of voice. "If you have any ideas or compliments, do share now, if not, then we need to go. Now, the more time we waste, the longer Alice has to get hurt, or worse." He looked at the building, glaring, as if he were staring right at the location they were at.

"She could hurt someone else."

Ryan
*Ryan merely nodded.*

"Why don't you just post these guys on the exits and warp us two in, get Alice and warp out? It'd be easier."

*He enjoyed Sky's plan, but it didn't seem necessary, especially when there are more lives on the line.*

Chaos Sky
Sky smiled and let out a large laugh. Quick thinking didn't get him quite as far as he had hoped.

"Hah, way to crash down my plans, eh? Oh well, you're right. It started out as just us, might as well finish it like that, right? Allright then." Though Sky wasnt quite done yet. His vioce became loud and instructive again. "Allright soldiers! Stay positioned outside all knowlegable exits, and keep your thermal visors on! I give off no heat, and Ryan is the shorter of the two similar heat sourced hedgehogs. And Alice, need I say more?" He turned back to Ryan.

"Well, let's go," Sky gripped Ryan's shoulder firmly, and concentrated on the source of Alice once more. It was much easier now, especially since she was so close. As he found the serge of energy in the mental map of his head, he brought forward the chaos energy into himself.

Chaos Control

El Perro de Azul
~The Soldiers~

"Hey...weren't we supposed to be listening to the hedgehog?" One asked as he continued to walk towards the first exit.

"Yeah...I mean...well, I guess...El Perro never really said...I guess we just obey the one that gives the first order." Another answered.

"Wait...were we supposed to have tranqs packed?" Yet another asked.

"Nah, if it comes down to it, we can just beat the target with a pole until it stops movin'...its just as effective as a tranquilizer."

With the Gorvacian soldiers new plan in place, they take their positions at the exit...now equipped with small metal poles.

~Inside the building~
~The murmuring steadily became more audible...the footsteps louder, more defined...as though whatever was walking had just stepped into the room, then suddenly...nothing. The sounds stop...leaving an uncomfortable, disturbed silence in the room...until the lights flicker off for a moment, then quickly flicker back on...a monstrous apparition appears in front of Alice for just a moment...and in that moment, it's face twists into a disgusting smile, showing its rotting, bleeding teeth...in that moment, it releases what sounds like a psychotic laugh, just before it vanishes again...the entire room shifts back to grey-scale...~

Antipode
*Alice whimpers and huddles into her chair.*

"It's o..okay...T..Teddy...." she sobs, "D..Don't b.be..scared..."

Chaos Sky
This warp felt extremely strange as well, as if there was something trying to push him away from it all. It could have just been his imagination, but something caught his attention enough to make him start thinking. Suddenly, objects were visible, and the sounds of cartoons rolled over them. Next to him was Alice, curled up with a teddy bear, and across the room, Fireball. He seemed to be greatly concentrating on something on the table. Looked like a book. Sky didnt know if he had heard or seen him and Ryan warp in, but anyhow, he was next to the person he wanted to find. Slowly creeping up to Alice, he gently put his hand on her shoulder and put his head next to her ear, so hopefully only he and her could hear the conversation.

"Alice? Hey Alice, it's me, Mister Sky. Do you remember me?" He asked, but didn't wait particularly long for an answer. "I'm gonna need you to relax now, okay? Everything is gonna be allright." He didn't know if Fireball had told her where she was now, or even if she knew regardless. But his grip firmed around her shoulder. He knew Fireball was fast, so he wasn't taking any chances.

By nodding his head, he motioned Ryan to come over near him, further blocking the path from Fireball to Alice. Now, his vioce grew.

"You're tricky, Fireball. But may I ask what this is all about?"

Ryan
*However... Ryan's attention was divided... Something was odd about the room. He had this feeling before... Yes. Back in the conferance room when Alice had her little dream. That horrible picture of the monster haunted Ryan's thoughts. Sweat ran it's course down the young hedgehog's face. He nervously looked to Sky. Could he feel it? He felt like warning Sky. Screaming at Sky to get out of the room as fast as possible, but words never spilled from his mouth. He couldn't. He was in the state of panic. This may have been too much for Alice... She was having her dreams again. Stupid Fireball. Why'd he have to take her?*

*His head twitched and he looked about the room nervously. He could feel the nightmare in the room. It was real. Only a matter of time unless Sky got Alice to El Perro now.*

Chaos Sky
Sky's attention was grabbed by Ryan's weary behavior, to say the least. He seemed cautios, nervous, twitchy. Something was wrong, something made him on edge. But what was it? Could he not see it? Not feel it, tottaly oblivious to what could have been right infront of him. It wouldnt surprise him now, something was going on with him. He didn't know what, but he did notice he was accidentally started to clentch on to Alice's shoulder. He quickly released tension put upon her, and tried to figure out something. Now that he stopped to think, and to feel, something did seem out of place. Why couldn't he put his finger on it though. He thought about warping out, right there and then, but he wanted to know more. He wanted to know Fireball's intensions.
Fireball
Without looking up, Fireball lifted the shotgun and shoots Sky. He blows up, little liquid pieces flying all over the place. He'd been watching them from the corner of his eye since they arrived.

"Ryan, I know your too smart to make me do the same to you, since you have a little more trouble re-forming..... Guys, what the heck is up with the colours in here?... are we......."

He gulps, looking at Alice.

"Okay, guys, I'm gonna yell at you for being idiots later, I think we got trouble just now."

He reloads his shotgun.

Ryan
*Ryan and Sky... Idiots? No way... It's the other way around. Fireball started this whole mess and Ryan has had it. Whatever that thing that came out of her was going to get it first, then Fireball. He did take a few steps farther away. He was still scared as the last nightmare she had was scary enough. No telling how freaky this one would be.*

*Gulp* "Alright... Bring it," he whispered to himself.

Chaos Sky
Sky reformed, slowly collecting the small and large peices. He arose from the condensated puddle he had formed, and reformed his true self. He knelt down, severly in pain. He had heard Chaos could have been shot many times without flenching, but Sky wasn't naturally a Chaos Beast, now was he?

"Dammit Fireball, that hurts!" He yelled, standing back up. Sky was never one to curse, so it only proved what type of mood he was in. "And im sure shooting a freaking shotgun really helped Alice to be calm!" His eyes seemed to flare and his swords formed from the light which sprouted from his hands. He was to the point now where he needed something to kill just to release the tension inside him.

NyteShade
"neh, I'd put that pig sticker of yours awayif I were you, chaos beast. I'm not fond of freaks pointing weapons at my friends."

*the voice is whisper quiet, but looses none of its sinisterness as it drifts down from above with scented black rose petals and tiny glowing motes of purplish black light. the petals fill the air with a soft misty power, a nurotoxin, one that's much more potent when mixed with water and causes the afflicted entity to be lethargic and slow to react*

Antipode
What no one has been noticing, is that for the past ten minutes the air in the room has been getting cold and stale... the smell of death. Anyone with an inkling of psychic prowess has hurt the phantom footsteps getting closer... and louder... like a macabre funeral dirge.

*Alice sits in her chair, her countenance darkly glazed over, her shallow breaths forming icy wisps in front of her face. Those wisps form dark tendrils along the ground, lacing between the legs of all in the room, filling them with a growing terror.*

Chaos Sky
He felt a strange feeling in the presence of the substance that surrounded him. A heavy sigh came over him.

"I'd hate to be the pig that got caught up at the end of this stick," Sky smirked. "Stride went weapon happy when he made these, told me all about them. Made them with some stange metal, pure and concentrated. And since the metal was a pure substance, it allowed the blade to acheive the sharpness of a fraction of a molecule, as well as chaos energy within the blade. Since I can control is, its a blade only I can use." He stood up straight, facing this darkness that surrounded him. "He also told me a dumb little story about yin and yang, duality, and a bunch of bull. He said it was important, never really caught onto why though."

"But im sure you didn't care to hear somewhat of a life story, now did you?" He grasped his arm on Alice, then leaned towards Ryan. "If i say 'run', do it. I'm might do something we'll all regret." He whispered to Ryan, very quietly. Then his vioce broadened again. "Now if you will so kindly show yourself, mystery person, it feels quite stupid to talk to thin air."

NyteShade
"hehehe look up then."

*nyte smiles down at him from her perch, standing on the ceiling, arms crossed over her chest. her smile rapidly deteriorates into a frown as she looks from sky to the catatonic alice, then back again.*

"hn, well well then, soon to be dead chaos beast, do you have a name? I'm somewhat surprised you have the brains to speak after all."

*she sneers down at him, a look of smug superiority and utter disdain for him on her face*

"The last time I checked, beast, stride hann't BUILT anything I couldn't take apart, given enough time and enough motivation. And I have a great deal of both, you see, so I'm sure I can find a way to make dying very unpleasent for you."

Antipode
A buzzing.

A buzzing that grows in intensity and drowns out all other noise.

The mist.

The mist around them is the source of the vibrations, as each tiny molecule of vapor begins to shiver.

Their ears fail and the windows shatter soudlessly under the assault...

Chaos Sky
"The name's Chaos Sky, but Sky is just what my im known by." He grinned at the situation. Though he was bewildered by the way this new person could stand on the wall like that. Quite unique, and she had also been skilled enough to find him, is she was in fact looking for him. Had she been there all along? He glanced at Fireball, then back at the 'thing' which stood on the wall.

"Is there any reason you wish to perish me from this world? Did i do something to you, and I just cant remember? Or are you just bored, or is it just the plain fact you have to kill something to feel the satisfaction of the hunt?" He shrugged off everything he had just said. "Killing, who are you to deny the life of another, good or bad? Are you one to decide what's right and wrong? With that said, and if that's true, are you trying to pose as a Goddess?"

He just shook his head. "You know, youre too late to kill me," He glared. "I died a long. long time ago."

Ryan
*Why won't it stop? The buzzing grew loud. The hedgehog panicked. He thought he heard Nyte's voice. What's she doin' here? Was he halucinating? Alice. Where was she? Now he can't see... The nightmare... It was coming. Alice... She had to be calmed. Broken glass... That's what he just heard. Where's Alice? What's happening? THis was too weird. He can't give in. Where's Alice?*

"Alice? You need to calm down."

*He said this though he couldn't see. His eyes were closed, but he wasn't even aware of this. SHe must be really scared right now. He fell to his knees, and still, he was oblivious to what he was doing. He continued to repeat the last words that flowed from his mouth in attempts to end this. His thoughts left him. All confidence drained from his body. What did Sky say? 'Run?' How? Ryan couldn't. He just couldn't. The fear had gripped him, robbed him of his control over his own body. Now he belonged to fear.*

NyteShade
*nyte's ears flattened against her hair at the sound and she frowns, not in fear, obviously not aware what she's dealing with, but with a disgusted anger. her focus is drwan forom sky to the surroundings and she's suddely not so confident and drops down beside fireball, at his back*

~what in the bloody nine hells is going on here?~

Fireball
//Princess, you have no idea how glad I am to see you. I'm serious. Protect Alice, those two don't know what they're doing, they might make the situation worse. I can't really see through this mist, but I'm trying to stay focused despite the failings of two of my senses. Can you see anything with night-vision? I can feel footsteps, I think somethings coming from somewhere.//
NyteShade
~I'll see what I can see...~

*she focuses her eyes glowing bright gold for a second as her pupils dissappear and she surveys the area around them*

~tsk, it's no good, this mist is unnatural, I can barely see through it, there's something there, but the mist is obscuring it even to me.~

Antipode
The sonic assault abruptly stops. The mist clears as if it had never existed. Then, as if the spell was saying "No, you weren't imagining things," all the lightbulbs in the flat pop and burst, sending the room into darkness.
Fireball
Fireball is the first one to illuminate the darkness. A flare provides a dull yellow blankety to the pitch blackness.

"Ryan, hold the girl, make sure she's still all right. Nyte, can you see or sense anyone? I know there's something there. Sky, see if you can get some light out of those glowy sticks of yours. We need to be able to see."

NyteShade
"we? I can "see" just fine, thank you very much...I just don't like what I'm seeing...."

*nyte backs up until she's pressed against fireball's back*

"tell me Red, do you believe in ghosts?"

*her voice contains a dry humor, and it's hard to tell if she's joking or not*

Chaos Sky
Thoe whole 'supernatural' experience seemed to throw a wrench in his mental mechanics. It dazed him, and threw him off balance. Sky could see in the dark, proveded that there was the smallest bits of light. But there was none, and he could see very very little. There was nothing he could to to prove benifitial for light in this situation. He looked at where he last saw Fireball.

"The Chaos Shards will provide a small light, but it will drain my energy as well. The more energy i let out, the more light comes out." He explained, pulling shards out of a compartment pocket of his jeans. They didn't glow at first, but then the faintest speck of light formed from them, and slowly, it grew to the point of a 3 foot radius.

"How much more light do you need?"

Ryan
*The hedgehog could hear his companions calling out to eachother, but he didn't pay much attention to them. There was something there. He listened to Fireball's advice, feeling around for Alice. He felt something and naturally held on to it, thinking it was Alice, but it was too dark to tell for sure. Sky just shown some light. At least that much would prove useful. Then he finally realized what Nyte had said. A ghost? This can't be good. A ghost of what though?*

"Guys?"

Antipode
*The lack of light obviously made no difference to little Alice. She wandered between everyone and out into the hall (as the thing Ryan had grabbed hold to was, in fact, a lamp) and with everyone talking at once they didn't even hear the door softly closing.*
El Perro de Azul
~The door's emergency lock system bolts shut. Twisted laughter begins to fill the room. And the very same "ghost" that Shade mentioned, slowly lowers itself from the cieling, its body hanging limp, covered in a thick, black substance...~

"Its funny...I don't recall having invited any of you here..."

~The creature slowly stands up as the black substance sinks off of his body and back into the ground...So there stood Stride. Both of his eyes were sunken in. What was once his respitory mask had been replaced by a grotesque mouth that had been split in four seperate directions, and he seemed to be drooling blood. The rest of his body seemed to be a confused, hulking mass of flesh, muscle, and bloody wires. He was much larger then before, at least 12 feet tall now, with arms, both equipped with massive, twisted versions of his auger drills the length of his body.

His head immeadiatley twists towards Chaos Sky, his body slightly ripples and contorts at the sight before returning to normal...He then begins looking around the room. He lets out a mass of blood from his mouth, then gives them all a twisted grin.

"More...experiments..." He takes a small step towards the group. "Surgery won't hurt...much..."

Fireball
BANG!

Smoking shotgun hole in the approaching figure.

"Actually, Slywhin, you said I should swing by sometime. That's an invitation, I think. Keep away, he's a creature from the girl's head, I just donno how many shotgun blasts it'll take to kill him."

Fireball reloads and re-aims. Its only double-barrelled, but he could reload faster than most people could pull a trigger.

Chaos Sky
The closest thing he had to adrenaline kicked in, sharpening all of his senses. It also made him a lot jumpier, maybe too much, as his hands over tighteningly gripped his swords. He jolted his head toward Ryan.

"Calm her down, now! Nice, soft, slow words! We don't need another one of these things after us, if she can do that!" His sights gazed once again to the 'reincarnation' of his mangled creator. It was interesting to look at, he gave it that much.

"Man, you're ugly," He smirked at the ghost, or whatever it was, trying to catch his attention. He jammed the chaos shard into a part of the blade, so it would stick in it, creating light. His foot steps echoed as he slowly walked away, creating space between as many things and people in the room.

"Surgery, Stride? Actually, I think we're making a house call to personally give it to you, for free. Now isn't that just awfully nice of us?" He took one step back, now in a slight fighter stance.

Ryan
*A lamp? Crap. Ryan couldn't believe his stupidity at this point, and now the little girl walked out the room. Just great... And what's worse, the ghost decides to show himself, but Ryan ruled that it was much better then not knowing what had been lurking in the dark. This can't be too much different then fighting some ''boss'' buy at the end of a dungeon, could it?

Ryan took one last queer look at the lamp and grasped it be the handle. Aiming the bulb at the creature's head, chuched the lamp. The weapon twirled horizontally as it homed in on its target.*

El Perro de Azul
~Well, to Fireball, Chaos Sky, and Ryan's credit. They had its undivided attention. However, their progress as far as ending the monsters life ended there.~

Nightmare Stride suddenly doubles over his stomach in pain, spewing out more blood and releasing a high pitched howl before two more auger drills slowly extend themselves from his back....right alongside with two massive, bloody cannons. The only thing more concerning then his new display of weaponry was the fact that the lab's self defense gatling guns were now rising from specific corners of the room.

"It was good of you to come...especially you, Fireball, I thought I was going to have to come get you."

~His statement being made, the 4 defense turrets now erected and having identified their targets, Stride, with a speed that shouldn't be capable for something as big as he, thrusts all four drills at Fireball, while firing both of his back mounted cannons at Chaos Sky~

Ryan
*The young hedgehog growled in some annoyance. From the corner of his eyes he saw the turrets errecting. Great. Well, Chaos and Fireball will have enough trouble with Stride on their hands, so Ryan would take the roll of destroying the turrets. This, he announced to his companions.*

"I'll take out the turrets! You guys take Stride."

*With determination, the hedgehog dashed toward the turret and cuffed his hands together. A red flame encircled his hands which he soon launched at at the a turret in a corner on his side of the room.*

Chaos Sky

He wasn't going to take the chances of being shot by either the turrets or the the weapon's stride had. Sky, at the ear of Ryan's announcement, acted quickly.

Chaos Control

In a brilliant light which momentarily lit up the room, Sky rebirthed on the back of his foe. With his swords, he violently slashed his blades at the weapons, hoping to stop function of anything that could prove leathal. Of course, after that, it would have to be Stride himself.

NyteShade
*nyte decides that discression is the better part of valor, and dissappears, only to reappear on the ceiling hands extended to fire off a flaming ball of darkness at the nightmare copy of stride*

"hey! Hey! don't for get about me you hulking piece of machinary! I've a bone to pick with you!"

El Perro de Azul
~The weapons that Chaos begins slashing with his sword at seem to flinch....and jump...heck, the left back mounted grows a set of jaws before he cuts clean through its...neck. The right cannon quickly turns its attention to Chaos Sky and begins to release a blast of dark energy, point blank...until Nyteshade's fireball effectively melts the cannon into a mass of mush.

Ryan's attack on the turret was so well placed and well aimed, it almost seemed planned from the start. The turret he attacks doesnt get a shot off and explodes in a burst of flames. Each of the remaining 3 turrets turn and open fire at Ryan, however, the one directly across the room ends up shooting through Nightmare Stride's legs like a hot knife through butter.~

"Grrr...I'll dissect you all with my teeth!"

~Stride doesnt seem too deterred by his now chewed up legs, in spite of his lack of mobility. Instead, he lets out a viscious roar before the cieling and his back begin growing...mouths. At first they were just mouths...then they extended out on tentacles. The first set of tentacles, mounted cieling directly above Stride, began snapping wildly at Nyteshade. Then Stride's back sprouted the same jaws, now snapping at Chaos Sky in their attempt to tear him apart.~

~Outside the Lab~

~3 new Gorvacian zeppelins hover patiently over the building. El Perro, now in command of 20 other soldiers and on site at the lab, stands at the main door holding a GPS tracker in his hands, staring intently at the screen.~

"Alice is in there, boys. Shes seperated from the group, apparantly. If we were ever gonna get her with a problem, nows the time."

One of the soldiers slowly step up, salutes, then begins speaking to El Perro.

"Sir, what about the orange one...Fireball?" The soldier pipes in. "What do we do with him? and what about the shadowmancer and the two kids?"

El Perro stops to think for a moment, then begins redirecting the soldiers around the building. "Have the firing squad ready for Fireball. As for Nyteshade, Ryan, and Chaos Sky, when they kill whatever is in there, have a medic on staff and ready."

Chaos Sky
The tiny mouthes snapped at his clothing, quickly ripping out peices of it as to get to Sky. They ripped out peices of his 'skin', which only seemed to melt back into him, leaving the pain still burning on the surface. There were quite a few of them, and he came to the conclusion that he was screwed unless he made an effort to return to the ground. With one powerfull effort, he managed to slash through 3 or 4 of the mouths before he fell hard onto the floor.

Upon staggering to his feet, he saw the turrets now all faced to Ryan. He was a hedgehog, but even still, one wrong move is all it takes to screw up and get yourself killed. And Sky had just the trick for this, something he loved to practice whenever he wanted. He darted over to Ryan. "Watch out!" He yelled as he jumped infront of him, stupidly as the bullets grazed by, some even slicing into his shoulder and more painfully, his tail. With his angel blade grasped tightly in his right arm, he held it out infront of him, and almost instantly, it whirled around like the propeller on an airplane, deflecting the shots. But then he tried to do something more cunning. Using the chaos energy to propell the angel blade at such a high volocity, he would tilt it, richocheting off the blade, directly at Stride.

He mentally fought through the power of the bullets to turn the chaos energy, and the angel blade, right at Stride, only realizing the person trying to kill him was up there. He rolled his eyes as he lowered the angle, directing the shots at Stride's chest. But he found out, he couldnt keep this up long.

Fireball
The bullets were easy for Fireball to avoid. Moving fast enough, he had left the spot they were aiming for before the bullet arrived.

He didn't really trust Ryan to take out the guns on his own, but then again he knew that the Nightmare Stride was seconds away from devouring Sky.

Shade's Burning Ball of Flaming Fire had caused an impact, melting a gun, so Fireball himself decided to cook up a bit more. He ran in a circle around Stride until the ground below them burst into flames, which spread over the ground and pulsed under Stride's feet.

Ryan
*In all his youth, Ryan leaped over Sky and dashed for his next turret. His eyes flickered to the turret across from the one he advanced on. He knew exactly what he'd do. Using his momentum, Ryan rolled into a ball and crashed into the Turret, flames engulfing him. The next turret spattered another round of bullets in which fired another ball of fire, trapping each bullet within it and rocketing toward the turret.*
El Perro de Azul
~Nightmare Stride was now, officially...freaking out. Between Fireball, Nyteshade, Chaos Sky, and Ryan, they had done an amazing amount of damage in a very little amount of time, it was no wonder that he was panicking. Now surrounded by fire, and with his legs fully debilitated, he had one option left...

"....If I can't kill you conventionally..." He growls under his breath. "Then I'll have to end us all..."

~Stride slowly begins to rip off the armor protecting his chest, now laughing maniacally as he does so. And fully revealing his plan as he faces Chaos Sky, allowing the bullets deflected from Sky into an armed nuclear weapon, which had been embedded into his chest the whole time. Unless they put an end to him right now, the combined force of Fireball's flames and Chaos Sky's bullets would set the weapon off.~

~Biolab Entrance~

~El Perro slowly steps in behind Alice, gently placing his hands on her shoulder~

"Alice...its time to go home now, okay? He says this in a quiet comforting tone...a tone not often heard by anyone but her. "Come on Alice, I've got some new cartoons and stuff for you back at the base."

~Directly outside the Biolab~

The Gorvacian Firing Squad now in place, they kept their sights on each of the entrances....and several more lined the general area, equipped with sniper rifles, just in case...They had their orders. Anything that came out of there that was orange and small was to terminated on command.~

Antipode
*Alice takes Azul's hand tightly.*

"I'm ready, Mister Azul," she says in her quiet, passive voice. "This place scares me."

*She continues to stare straight ahead, holding El Perro's hand in one of hers and her teddy bear's in the other.*

Ryan
*Yes. Last turret. The excitement in the young hedgehog's voice began to build up. He made it this far, and now the last turret would be gone. But wait... What was Stride doing? A nuclear weapon embodied within himself? Wasn't this just a nightmare from Alice? If so, then how could this nightmare be created so...so complex? Maybe Ryan and Sky were wrong this whole time. Maybe... they have no idea what they got themselves into.*

*The hedgehog had only enough energy for one more of his Nova blasts, and he'd be all out. He wasn't fast enough to destroy the turret and then fire a blast in order to intercept Fireball's and Sky's attacks. The turret was locked on him. The hedgehog's hand burst into flames as he brought his palms together. He noted the couch wasn't very far away. If the hedgehog really pushed himself...*

*Ryan launched his final blast in hopes of intercepting the fireball and the bullets. He did not take careful aim. As soon as he had done so, the hedgehog leaped for the cover of the couch from the final turret and landed unconsciously.*

Chaos Sky
It took him longer than it should have to realize the situation he had helped put everyone in. The thing in his chest didn't seem to friendly. And if Stride was starting to talk suicidal, and he was taking in the bullets towards whatever it was in his chest, he was being serious. Sky immediately haulted the motion of the spinning blade, only to have the single remaining turrets few bullets graze by, shooting through a leg and shoulder. But he felt as though it was allready too late. The thing in Stride's chest looked like it would blow any second now. What could he do? He couldn't just let him kill everyone in the room, let alone possibly the city. Who knew how big the bomb was? He quickly thought of a solution, but only came to one possible way. And he really didn't like it.

Sky slammed his swords into one sword, light flickering from the transformation. Looking straight up and the massive beast, he flinched. "If that's the way you want to play, Stride!" He yelled, dashing up to him, then lunging into the air, landing near Stride's head. "Then I'll play dirty, too!"

With the pain shooting inside of him, bullet wounds and all, he amazingly ignored it as he closed his eyes and focused. He took out a single, large chaos shard. It would take a while to charge up, it wasn't easy moving something as large as Stride, and at that, he was mainly chaos energy. That was even rougher on him. But none the less, he knew it had to be done.

"Chaos Control...." He said, and with that, he charged his energy for his transfer.

Fireball
Fireball had had enough of the turrets, leaping angrily, spinning, and screaming, he dstroyed them by smashing them off of their embeddings, one by one., then returned. He say the nuclear weapon, he saw what Sky was going to dom and instantly knew he was going to fail. Good thing he wasn't the only one who could control Chaos energy. He needed a helping hand.

"Chaos Cotnrol!"

NyteShade
*nyte watchs from the ceiling, absently blowing up the last turret before ryan can. she vaguely wonder the two of them, chaos sky and fireball can warp nightmare stride away in time, not that she has anything to worry about since she can be gone in an instant, taking fireball with her if need be. he was the only one here that she had any alligance to after all.*
El Perro de Azul
~To put it simply...That's that. Thats all folks. Instead of being warped a safe distance away, Nightmare Stride's body slowly fades into nothing, falling apart, piece by piece, from the head down, until nothing was left. Furthermore, the entire area simply reverted to normal...the only thing left as proof of the conflict were the remains of the machine gun turrets.~

~Outside of the lab~

~El Perro stood impatiently with Alice at side, staring out at the Biolab from a steel Gorvacian zeppelin that was circling the area with a group of 2 other ships. All were equipped with ballistic missiles and aimed at the biolab, simply waiting for the group to leave before destroying it once and for all. Even still, El Perro continued to think about what Ryan and Corvak told him earlier...Maybe this firing squad thing wasn't necesary after all...

Furthermore, any of the snipers scattered throught the area, were now well hidden underground The firing squad, now equipped with the armor piercing, shoulder mounted rail guns, now stared through the powerful X-ray scope. Each one of those 20 soldiers now had their aim directed on Fireball.

Ryan
*Ryan strained his eyes to see that Stride was gone. He shakily grabbed onto the couch and propped himself up against it. This was the most intense fight he had ever had. But now what? They were supposed to get Alice back for El Perro, but she was missing. Hopefully she escaped without harm.*

"Wow... That was intense." He had meant for that statement to be heard by everyone, but instead, it came out only a whisper.

Chaos Sky
Without Stride to suppost him in middair, Sky fell from the air, landing hard on the ground. He still had a lot of chaos energy summoned up, and it threw off his senses. That was it? he thought. Maybe I shouldnt expect things to be so hard...

He made his way to Ryan, turning his body so that his back faced no one. "You allright? You did a good job back there." Even after this fight, he still had not left his guard down to the others. He was also worried about Alice, wondering where on Earth she was now.

Fireball
Fireball certainly wasn't done.

"Please, TELL ME that you didn't let El Perro and his army fallow you here. PLEASE tell me your not THAT stupid..... Where the f*** is Alice?"

He said all this without slowing down, he was frantically stomping out the fire he'd created in the middle of the room.

Chaos Sky
Sky looked up, glaring. "First off, if he did happen to follow me, I'd be amazed. All I did was warp here, so if there's a good way of tracking me through that, then that's what he did. As for Alice, she's somewhere around. Close, I can still feel her." Sky titled his head. "Would you mind telling us what's going on? Why are you so dertermined to keep and eye out on Alice?"
Ryan
*Ryan grasped the top of the couch and forced himself to stand. He was as angry with Fireball as Sky was, but Sky had already said what he wanted to. He excused the fact that Nyte was here. She didn't scare him. She would probably threaten to kill him and Sky in a little bit, and if not, make the excuse that she doesn't have time to mess with them because of their "weak" traits. There mission was to get Alice back to El Perro, and what Ryan had figured from Fireball's talk, that El Perro had gotten her somehow. So far... It was good news unless Fireball could explain what Ryan and Sky couldn't understand.*
El Perro de Azul
~Inside the Lead Zeppelin~

El Perro looked down at Alice, then slowly leans down to her.

"Alice. The one that took you away, Fireball...Hes about to be hurt...bad. If you could save him from being hurt...in spite of what hes done so far...in spite of him being a hedgehog...would you?"

~Almost like a response to El Perro's question, the radio suddenly blares to life with the commanding Gorvacian's voice~

"Hey! El Perro! Firing squad #1 has a lock on that hedgehog. The taller one, right? Hes currently in closed quarters. What are your orders?"

El Perro simply grins, then slowly lowers the radio to Alice, gently placing it in her hands. Before whispering to her...

"Alice, what do you think?"

Antipode
*She faces straight ahead.*

"Why should he be hurt, Mister Azul? He didn't hurt me at all. Actually, he kept me quite safe. I don't know why he took me... but why hurt him for that?"

Fireball
"Are you friggin' kidding? Didn't you see the way he treated her? Forcing her to relive that nightmare for the sake of a...DEMONSTRATION? She was in pain, in tears, and he just shrugged it off like it was nothing. the guy is an ASSASSIN. He kills people. He's a friggin Government Agent on the road. What kind of a life is that for a little girl? Being raised by an always-on-the job murderor and a frigging moron. Are you so short sighted you can't see that this girl needs a family that cares about her and thinks of her as more than a bizzare experiment? Now, we have to get her back, but more importantly, I need to know if you two have seen ANY indication that an operative working for Azul or El Perro himself might know where we are right now? Because if they do I calculate we should be dead in seconds."
NyteShade
"we Red? While I can't speak for the chaos beast" *she sneers distainfully as she says this* "or for the little hedgie, but I'm pretty sure you and I aren't going to die here. I'll make us vanish for a bit without a trace if I have to."
Fireball
Fireball couldn't help smile. Sometimes he forgot that his partner was one of the most powerful being on the planet.

"OK, you two will die in a shower of various bullets and rockets intened for me, think fast, Tiny Dancers."

El Perro de Azul
~El Perro simply looks down at Alice, then grins~

"Can't fault you for that, Alice. Sounds good." He holds the radio to his mouth. "Fella's, disperse. This jobs been cancelled. I'm leaving too, just make sure that this spot is destroyed once EVERYBODY leaves. Oh yeah, thanks for coming on such short noticed, move out."

El Perro lifts Alice up and sits her on his shoulder, then orders the pilot to turn the ship around.

"I'm proud of your decision Alice. Teaches me a few things too. Now, lets head home, Corvak and I got somethin' you'll love."

~The soldiers quickly and quietly disperse...first the firing squad, then the snipers, only to cover them. The only things left are the two giant steel zeppelins, only waiting for their opprotunity to take down the building

Ryan
*Ryan wasn't about to leave yet. They had run right into a trap. El Perro set Sky and Ryan up. It was only now that he saw this. El Perro wanted to kill Fireball for what he's done, thus, gave Ryan and Sky the so called "Body Gaurds". They blindly accepted even though, deep down, Ryan knew he should have rejected the soldiers. But even more things confused him. He didn't seem like that bad of a guy once you got to meet him, but was that just a decoy to hide his true self? Sky...he stayed in that room with El Perro when Ryan and Fireball were kicked out.*

"Sky...C-can you tell me what El Perro told you in the conference room when I was kicked out?"

Fireball
Fireball looks highly impatient. He yells, frustrated, then sprints over to a device in the corner. Its unclear whether it belonged to Stride, or whether Fireball brought it here himself, but he's dealing with a non-magic user. So that means electronics.

"Screw this, I'm not taking an chances."

Fireball puts in the access code, then removes a large piece of metal from the device. Taking a couple of steps back, he takes off his metal sunglasses and places them on a table. There is a high pitched whine, building in intensity, and then....

The "Pinch" goes off. There's no explosion, per say. But everyone can feel the big space where an explosion should have been. The machine jerks angrily, like its swatting a mosqito, and the whine fades, hand-in-hand with an electrical crackle from all directions.

An Electro-Magnetic Pulse. Within a three mile radius, all electronic equiptment is now rendered useless. Radio wires fired, plug fuses blown, anyone touching something metallic will feel a sharp spark, people with a lot of hair will find it attempting to stand on end. If there happened to be any airborn vessals above their head at this moment, say for example two lead zeppelin airships, they would most certainly find themselves lost of all power, and unable to automatically restart. If there happened to be any teams of Snipers nearby, their laser sights would die completly and they'd get a sharp electric shock from the metal of the weapon itself. The lights go out, ALL the light. Its pitch black, again.

But it isn't long before the automatic generator reboots itself, and the skelaton equiptment in Stride's lab, desgned to work in just such an emergency as this, kick's back into life. Fireball puts his glasses back on.

Chaos Sky
The 'explosion' did not phase him much. He turned towards Ryan. The sound of his voice...it seemed like he almost didn't trust him at this point. "He showed me a video. About bad things stride did. About the evil he released into the world, as well as some information about runaway subjects." he lied, but did a good job of not changing pitch of his voice, or any sudden twitched.

He was not through. He took a deep breath, speaking slowly so every word was heard clearly. "Fireball, I understand where you're coming from. Finding a good place for Alice, that's a good idea. But in all honesty, would you think it's safe to have her life with a normal family? It's dangerous, just as dangerous as it might be to live with El Perro. It's a strange situation, I'm not tottaly sure how to approach it. As for El Perro...." He shook his head.

"That's enough, we're wasting energy and time fighting about things and differnt view points. What do you think we should do then, hm?" He asked.

Ryan
*The explosion did do something to him... and it certainly did make every bit of his fur stand on end. He then heard what Sky said. Stride... Again that name came up. He remembered it, but from where? Once again he shrugged it off.*

"Sky... Never said he'd take her to a normal family. He said she needed a good family. And do we really know what Stride's motives when he killed those people? Maybe Stride wasn't such a bad guy..."

*But Ryan soon began to question himself about what he had just said. If that thing they just fought was how Stride was right, then Ryan admited to himself stupid once again.*

"Fireball... I think you should clue us in on who exactly Stride was. And any info you've gathered on El Perro. That way, Sky and I can be sure of our own motives."

Fireball
Fireball rolled his eyes, he was getting through to Ryan, but Sky was taking a bit more to convince. Maybe he just wasn't that smart.

"Listen, Water-boy. You owe him your life. If it wasn't for Stride this entire world would have been invaded, destroyed, nuked, and wiped out in a numbe rof ways. He saved your life over and over again before you were even in this game. His inventions have advanced modern medicine and electronic technology by about 60 years, and that's only the ones that he felt were safe enough to share with the world. If you disresect him one more time I'm gonna have your ass frozen and then smashed to pieces by tiny little robotic hamsters. Got it?"

NyteShade
*nyte, who has been busy up until this moment smoothing down herfur finally speaks, dropping down from teh ceiling to sneer at sky*

"Fire you might as well stop trying to reason with it. the damn abomination probably can't even comprehend what you're trying to say. Stride wasn't a saint that's for sure, but I won't listen to you slander him either. I'll kill you before I do that."

*she goes back to preening her fur muttering about how fireball could have warned her before setting off a bloody emp*

Ryan
*Wow... Now they both hated his friend. Ryan didn't mean to betray him. All he wanted was for a nice easy talk and some clearing up. Besides, he remembered who Stride is...or was. He had relations with Kini and he remember this the first time he met Kini at the Crystal Temple. Stride wasn't such a bad guy after all. But the way Fireball and Nyte talked to his friend...*

"You two are jerks. Sky was only sticking up for what he believed in. You could have explained it simply. He didn't yell at you when he told you what he though."

*Amid the hedgehog's rage, a fire ball slowly grew from his clenched fist. Ryan didn't take notice of this, even if it was giving off intense heat.*

NyteShade
*nyte releases a warning growl, from deep in her chest*

"I'd ice those flames if I were you hedgepig. I'd hate for YOU to be the one that gets burned..."

Ryan
*His head turned to face Nyte with a look of discust. It was only then that he noticed the flame that suddenly grew on his hand. He flicked his hand many times until it finally went out.*

"Erm...well... What I'm getting at is... Why can't we just get along? I mean, we can beat this El Perro guy if we all stick together. So...waddya say?"

Fireball
Fireball nods, satisfied with the current situation, and bored enough to move on.

"Sure, sport. Let's do that. I'm going to fire up the ChronoLab gateway. I think I remember how to operate it. Shade, if you would be so kind as to warp Alice back to us, I'd be most appreciative. I'm sure her shadow imprint will be highly unique. Gentlemen, if you would come with me to the restricted area of the lab."

Ryan
*Ryan nodded in approval. But it wasn't long before something sparked in his head.*

"Uh...Fireball. El Perro doesn't really know we've reallied. Maybe we could act as a double agent?"

NyteShade
"no."

*she crosses her arms over her chest, frowning petulantly*

" 'm not gonna doit and you canna make me....

Fireball
He takes in what Ryan says, but then holds up his finger to say "One moment", and turns to Shade.

"What? Why not?"

NyteShade
*he answer is simple, child-like and petulent*

"I don't want to."

Ryan
*Ryan cocked an eyebrow at Nyte's behavior. He didn't even act like that.*

"Uh... Well, you got Chaos Control, Fireball. Why don't you do it? Sky could even do it."

Fireball
"Because I don't knw where she is, look PLEASE Shade, I need you on board with this. You really think its safe to leave her with the guy who killed Stride??"

Fireball hoped this would strike a chord. He found it difficult to accept the fact that Shade was giving him hassle now.

Chaos Sky
"I dont have to know her location to warp to her. How do you think i found you? I just lock on to her chaos energy, and its reasonable easy to locate since she just used it." Sky explained, tossing a shard up in the air, playing catch with himself out of boredem all ready.
Fireball
Fireball shakes his head to dislodge his confusion, and puts his game face back on.

"Fine, I don't think he'll hurt her just now, but we gotta be careful with that guy... Anyone who wants to meet Stride come with me."

He says as he heads of to the far corner of the lab, where everytrhing is white apart from large read signs stating "Restricted Access: Highly Dangerous".

Ryan
*Ryan nodded to Sky and trotted to the side of Fireball. Reading the restricted sign only aroused the his excitement even more.*

"So was he really a good guy?"

Chaos Sky
Sky shrugged. "It's all a matter of opinion. The facts are there, and different people will always say different things. You decide that, it's nobody else's say," He said softly, to where only Ryan could here. Sky shifted his wait and walked toward the designated spot.
