*Inside the necklae, Ryan sits, circling aimlessly with a small twig. It's obvious from the expression on his face, he's bored.* "Seriously, Nyte, what's the deal?"

Nyteshade

What do you mean whats the deal? "her voice resonates from all around him.

Ryan

*He pounds the ground, angry.* "Why am I hear?" He says, gritting his teeth. "If you gave me a chance..."

Nyteshade

"I did and you screwed up..." she mutters as she sits down at the counter of the icecream parlor where she orders an ice cream cone.

Ryan

"I'm twelve... it's not like I had that much I could do."

Nyteshade

"not YOU but people that used you."

Antipode

A girl watches from the far side of the parlour, dressed in a baggy hooded sweatshirt and loose jeans, a baseball cap pulled down to cover her dirty blonde hair and her eyes. She keeps leaning her head in the direction of Nyte, seeming to listen intently to the conversation while poking at her ice cream shake...

Ryan

*He hangs his head in dispare.* "So I have to take the punishment?

Nyteshade

"well duh, of bloody course you have to take the punishment."

Ryan

"It's not like I could help what they did! Nyte, this isn't fare!" He stands, throwing the twig down, listening to his own voice bouncing off the walls of the void.

Nyteshade

The pocket dimension that ryan is trapped in ecos around him, ringing as nyte taps her spoon on the gem. "life isn't fair."

Chaos Sky

If there was anything good about any kind of the local resteraunts in the area it was the fact that they had a small cut off section for arcade games. And from there a loud yell blasted out. "High score BAABEEEHHH!" Sky's hand blured as he smashed buttons, slowing down as he turned to see half the resteraunt glaring at him.

Antipode

The girl leans on her elbow and looked like she was about to whisper something, but at Chaos Sky's exuberation and getting everyone's attention, she quietly snapped back to hunching over her dessert without Nyte noticing.

Ryan

Ryan straightened, catching the familiar voice of Sky.

Nyteshade

"gawd I wish that guy would be quiet, he's ruining my ice cream time..."

Chaos Sky

After his pause, he quickly lost his concentration and lost his sync with the game and his space ship exploded on screen. Game Over. As Sky peered into his pocket he noticed he still had 3 quarters and shrugged. Leaving the arcade area he approached the counter and stacked the quarters. "Can i get some fries, please?" he called out to the worker.

Nyteshade

She frowns as the loiud guy sits down at the counter a few seats from her... "great..just wonderful..."

Ryan

"What's he look like?"

Nyteshade

"like he's made of water"

Ryan

"It's Sky! Chaos Sky!"

Ryan

"Can he hear me?"

Nyteshade

"dunno, maybe."

Chaos Sky

Sky's head perked up. He heard something, but it wasnt distinct enough to make clear. Maybe he was hearing things? He hoped not, he wasnt old enough to be loosing his mind yet.

Ryan

"If Sky ever finds out about this, Nyte, he won't take it sitting down.

Ryan

He seems to stretch clench his fists, now that the first signs of hope were coming.

Nyteshade

"I don't care. this is for the best."

Chaos Sky

As his fries arrived, he shrugged off his other thoughts. Maybe he just needed some food, he thought, as he dug into his plate fry by fry.

Antipode

The girl scowled as Sky sat down between her and Nyte. This was a delicate matter, she had to be careful. But she knew she couldn't do anything with so many people around... She had to get that amulet.

Nyteshade

Nyte grumbled and orders a soad, and another parfait. it was hot out and she wanted to stay in the cool parlor for a bit longer.

Ryan

Ryan sits again, planting his head in his palm, crossing his legs. "Do you have a clue why I get infested so much?"

Nyteshade

"don't know, don't care. since you can't get out you can't get in trouble."

Chaos Sky

Sky's eyebrow shot up. Was this lady talking to herself? He glanced around to see no one giving any feedback to her voice.

Ryan

"That doesn't always have to be true..."

Nyteshade

"look ryan, you're bugging mer I'm trying to eat my icecream."

Ryan

He chuckles. "That's your problem."

Nyteshade

She proceeds to ignore him.

Chaos Sky

"Excuse me miss?" Sky glanced at Nyte. "Uhm...you okay? It looks like youre talking to yourself."

Ryan

Ryan bursted out laughing.

Antipode

The girl scoffed silently to herself. As she had figured, this new character was a Blind...

Nyteshade

she stares at him before smiling. "no I'm talking to a little boy thats trapped in my mystic necklace.

Chaos Sky

"Ah, I see." he paused for a moment. "Uhm...I believe there's this little house down the street with white padded walls and warm jackets with buckles. You didn't happen to live there for a while did you?"

Ryan

"Burn..." Ryan says, flickering a flame in his hand.

Ryan

Obviously mocking, Nyte.

Nyteshade

"why no. I'm something of a wizard you see. A shadowmancer actually."

Chaos Sky

"Ah, I see. So this boy in your necklace...an ex of yours? Wasn't working out so you trap him in a necklace?"

Ryan

Ryan cringed.

Antipode

The girl sighs quietly and drops her head into her hands, rubbing the back of her neck. The prattle was getting annoying, she has to get out of here...

Nyteshade

"no! he's was just a kid, but he's rather dangerous, even so."

Nyteshade

"but if you'll excuse me, I really should be going, sky."

Chaos Sky

"Aight, miss--" His head perked. "Uhm...how'd you know my name? I don't remember meeting you before."

Nyteshade

she puts her money and a nice tip down on the counter. "ryan told me." she stands up, and walks out heading down the street.

Chaos Sky

He stood blankly. "Ryan? I haven't seen him in ages, how do you know him."

Antipode

(She's leaving...!) The girl clenches her fists and starts to panic. There was no way she could tail a shadowmancer without being noticed... could she?

Nyteshade

She chuckles at sky's question but gives him no answer even as the door closed behind her with a soft chime. "see ryan, no one's going to save you."

Ryan

"..." A flame envlopes Ryan's closed fist, and he fires it aimlessly in the void.

Chaos Sky

"Whoa whoa whoa miss!" He said, starting after her. "Seriously, where is he?"

Antipode

Nyte feels a glimmer of hostile intent, but by then it's too late. The girl has launched herself through the plate-glass window just in front of Nyte, reaching out and ripping the mystic amulet straight off her neck. She tumbles to the pavement, disrupting traffic and causing horns to rise in cacaphony around them.

Antipode

She rolls to her feet and jumps into a run, making off into the underbelly of the city.

Nyteshade

"... that little twat just stole my necklace..."

Chaos Sky

"....I believe the crazy hut is missing TWO people..."

Ryan

He feels some shaking and stumbles. "Nyte?"

Antipode

The girl sprints madly into the alleys, lifting the amulet to her lips and kisses it lightly. "I've got you, boy. You're safe now."

Ryan

His eyebrows raise. "Wha? Who are you?"

Antipode

"Mareena. Call me a friend."

Antipode

She smiles and takes a glance over her shoulder. They're several blocks from the ice cream parlour now, far from the busyness of the streets.

Ryan

"Mareena, huh? I'm Ryan...incase you don't know."

Antipode

"Oh, I know who you are..."

Nyteshade

"I wonder if its really worth going after them...I mean its not like Ryan can get out and I doubt that girl can unlock it....but still she DID steal it from me and i hate theives...." she mutters to herself bewfore catching what sky is saying "i'm not crazy you ass. I'm really a shadow mancer."

Chaos Sky

he was wondering how long it would take it to get hostility out of her, but now he was more confused than ever. 'Ryan'....'get out'...? "Can you spare a few seconds to enlighten an ass such as myself?"

Nyteshade

"ryan is sealed inside the gem in my amulet which was just stolen by some street tramp."

Nyteshade

"he said he knows you, but I'm not to sure. now if you'll excuse me I need to get my amulet back." she steps into the street as if she has no concern for the moving traffic, either it gets out of her way or it is promptly crushed by her "aura" as he soon witnesses as a truck, unable to stop is crushed by a wall of invisible force.

Antipode

Mareena ducks into an an archway behind a restaurant, finding stairs leading down into the darkness. She slides down the rail and raps lightly on the door, slipping inside when it opens.

Chaos Sky

He was temporarily stunned by the possible knoweldge of his absent friend's location. "Uhm..." he could only watch as Nyte walked by.

Ryan

"So uh...what's the deal? How do you know me?"

Antipode

"I know a lot about you, little boy," she chuckles softly and moves the amulet in her fingers. "And at the moment, I have need of you more than that... that WOMAN does."

Ryan

He's quiet for a moment. He's needed. "Like how? In what way am I needed? It's not for some sacrifice, is it?"

Nyteshade

have gained the other side of the street she closes her eyes..her senses serching...serching for HER amulet it carrys her residual energy and draws her mind's eye like a beacon. her searching aura is oppressive to the girl and even ryan can feel her ire and rage.

Ryan

"Um... You're running, right?"

Antipode

"Oop. Time to go." Her hand jams down on a large push-switch that causes the floor in the middle of the room to drop down into the darkness. "Almost there," she says almost cheerfully as she hops down into the hole, the trapdoor closing behind her.

Ryan

"Can you escape her? I mean, she can warp from shadows, can't she?"

Antipode

"I was told these access tunnels are warded from magic. I don't know if that's true or not, but it's what I was told..." She presses on with reckless abandon; even though there is absolutely no light in the tunnel, she navigates it perfectly.

Ryan

He seems to find solace in that.

Nyteshade

"hmm.. the scent goes cold here.... she looks about trying to deduce why... "perhaps I'll go back for the sky boys help...."

Ryan

"Can you answer a few of my questions?" He says, almost pleading her.

Antipode

"Anything in my capacity."

Ryan

"How can you hear me?"

Antipode

"Some people have eyes but cannot see, and ears but cannot hear. I just happen to be one of the fortunate ones."

Nyteshade

She appears just as easily behind sky, actaully its startling how she rises out of his wavery shadow. "you . boy. do you want to get your friend back or not?"

Chaos Sky

"AAIIIE holy crap" he jumped

Nyteshade

"cut the theatrics please, I said do you want your friend back or not?"

Chaos Sky

he turned to square away with Nyte. "Of course I do."

Chaos Sky

"Whats the price? Or rather what do you want me to do?"

Nyteshade

"I want my amulet back....I'm willing to release his body to you if you help me get it back."

Chaos Sky

He pondered that. Could he trust a random, potentially crazy shadow thing? "One quick question. Why would you release him? It sounded like HE was what you wanted, but is it the necklace you really want?"

Nyteshade

"my motives are not your concern."

Ryan

Ryan pondered this. He figured that if the necklace came in contact with someone, they could hear him. Guess not. "So uh... You said I was needed. What for?"

Chaos Sky

"Fine, I'll do it. Now do i get a lead or something? Its rather hard to hit a target when youre blind."

Antipode

"Not you exactly... Let's just say when I'm done with you, you're completely free to go. But I'd steer clear of that shadowmancer afterwards."

Ryan

"Heh... I can't help it. Whenever I'm in trouble, she shows up. It's like she can't trust me."

Nyteshade

"hm the blind leading the blind is it..." she smiles and grabs his shoulder...well shoves her hand into his chest, and the world around them twists sickenly and they reappear above the trap door. "the trail goes cold here."

Chaos Sky

He shakes his head. "Goit, that's almost as bad as Chaos Control, even missing two senses," he shooke his head feeling unbalanced."

Antipode

Mareena stops suddenly. "They've found..." And takes off again at an earnest sprint and screaming down the corridor. "Jaxon!! Where are those sentinels, you git?!"

Ryan

"Jaxon? Who's Jaxon?"

Antipode

"My... partner, I guess. I dunno what you'd really call him. But he's SUPPOSED to be securing MY ESCAPE ROUTE, THE SORRY SOD!!" A voice echoes up from the depths of some hidden chamber. "Jeez, I heard ya! Give me a sec, wouldja?" "You don't have one, Jaxon! They're HERE!"

Nyteshade

"well?" she asks poiintedly. where did they go frm here?"

Chaos Sky

"If Ryan was out of the damn necklace I could possibly track him. hedgies are slightly more attuned to chaotic energy than the average anthro...hmm"
