Dredge Announce our arrival with a bang, dear child: a vault door through the air and a bullet to the brain; firearms are so cliche, it's true, but necessary here for our point to be made. They'll regret not locking the back door today. Leave no bill unturned, and nothing on the floor. We'll rock their world and shock their pocketbooks, child, and prove to this town that we're serious here.

In and out, but not so fast, we need to see the looks on their faces before we've passed. I'll leave it to you, dear child, take the lead. Just seeing you here will make our plan succeed. Be cautious to not let them get to close... losing you here would spell certain disaster for all.

Antipode [bad blood]

HEIST

A Savott City Role-Play

[GUILD MISSION] SCPD - SVT City Protection & Defence :: Guild members participating in this thread recieve guild points upon its completion.

ATTENTION - ATTENTION - ALL SCPD AGENTS - THIS IS A CODE RED SITUATION - ROBBERY IN PROGRESS AT CITY FIRST NATIONAL BANK - SHOTS HAVE BEEN FIRED - SUSPECTS CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS - PERPATRATORS STILL ON THE SCENE - HOSTAGES HAVE BEEN TAKEN - PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION - BRIEFING ENDS

Arjen Evangel, uncharacteristically, swore. This was the last thing he needed, after receiving the news that his daughter, Hope, had been kidnapped from the hospital leaving a nurse dead and his neice, Crystal, recovering from a nasty fall. He muttered something not meant to be heard as he made sure the message was forwarded to everyone on the force - with all the Chaos-using activity going on he wanted to make sure he could get the backup if he needed it.

NyteShade Nyte had woken in a cold sweat earlier that morning at around 2 am. She hadn’t wanted to bother Arjen on his first night’s sleep in so long, and so had passed the night in uneasy vigil until several hours later they received a call about their daughter who had mysteriously disappeared from her hospital room.

”Damn it! I should have told him…”

She thought to herself before heading out to canvass the city in an attempt to find her missing daughter.

The sleek vicious looking black and silver bike sped down the street in a blur, the driver, in matching black and silver leathers and helmet, was in the same condition mentally. She’d been up for several hours now, and was operating on so little sleep she could barely function. If the lack of sleep wasn’t burden enough her worry was. Nyte was well and truly frightened for her daughter, Hope, her youngest.

She blows through a stoplight at close to 100 mph causing a mass screech of tires from the cross traffic, but she hardly notices. She’s focused on the squelch coming through her rather high-tech motorcycle helmet.

”Damn it not now!”

She guns her bike, pulling it into a rather impressive wheelie as she squeals off towards the downtown area of Savott City.

”Dial Arjen!”

There is a pause, a dial tone, then a rapid dial like the sound one gets when one hits the redial button, as her cell seeks to connect to Arjen’s cell phone. As he picks up she hardly gives him time to breathe much less speak.

”Don’t you DARE go in there alone! My ETA is 2 minutes, I’ll be there shortly.”

She’s tempted to hang up as she drives at insane speeds but instead asks a question.

”Do you want me to call Jewel or Crystal?”

Ryan Psh. A bank? How cliche. This was a Savott City Police Department mission, though, and Ryan was ready to take it on.

He sprinted down the ally, volted over the wood fence, and continued the long path across the city. As he entered the busy street, he dodged cars with grace, so much so that the cars didn't even need to stop. As he came to his next obstacle, a dead end ally, the snappy, young hedgehog bounced off the opposite sides until he cleared the wall, and continued his way across the roof.

Swinging his legs over the ladder, Ryan slid down the rusted rails with ease, and hopped to the ground, taking on a burst of speed. His ears picked up police sirens, and he saw the car just as it sped around the corner. Smirking in spite of the situation, the hedgehog decided to hitch a ride, becoming like an arrow and landing with a soft tap on the roof of the cop car.

The car came to a screeching halt, and Ryan hopped off, looking around, curiously for any of other SCPD forces.

UltraSonic Alex read the notice and thought to himself this should be relatively easy

It wasn't long and he'd grabbed his guns, packing a pair of uzi's inside a leather jacket, a shotgun strapped to his leg and a rifle across his back, and was ready to go. He grabbed his helmet and hopped on his motorcycle, a Ducati Superbike 999r Xerox to be exact, and was on his way.

By no means did he make a breakneck pace for the bank, he cruised along hovering between 60 and 70 miles an hour, weaving his way through the traffic, driving on the curb when nesecary. As he lived just outside of Savott city it would be a couple of minutes before he arrived.

Antipode "Don't bother," he mutters into his cell as he approaches on foot, "I'll wait for you, but I can't afford to wait for anyone else to get here before I have to take action. Just hurry." He claps his phone shut.

Arjen arrives at the bank and approaches one of the bank security guards who was holding a perimeter around the building the keep civilians out. His clearance is obvious, and the guard gets him up to speed: "It looks like the vault was blown clear of the wall. One of my men was shot in the back of the head, never saw it coming. The hostages are in the lobby, but... we don't know where the perps are. Any time someone tries to leave, they shoot - at the wall, but it's enough of a warning. But no one's been able to see where they are."

He ponders. "Maybe it's best if we just wait them out. Do we have any way of contacting them? Have they made demands?"

Ryan Ryan trotted up to Antipode, apparently not worried about interupting them. He spread his hands out as if weighing his words on a scale as he spoke. "My bet is that these are the same people that destroyed Mulligan's awhile back. I know it doesn't look like it, but that's probably what they're going for to catch us off gaurd, you know?" He eyed Antipode, as if accusing him. "I'm betting his is just another message, and they're asking for you."
Serrif "Need any assistance?" Erika asked, walking up the the group. Whilst she didn't work for the SCPD, she had worked with them on occasions. It suited her, not following orders but using them to get to other people. She still needed to find someone.

She was carrying a compact automatic weapon with a sling over her shoulder. Erika was wearing a grey overcoat (armoured in this case) and black combats. As she was here now, she might as well offer some help.

NyteShade "You leave my husband alone hedgepig. You've no idea what's been going on."

She steps from Arjen's shadow, the visor from her helmet up, a dark scowl on her face. she raises her hand as if intending to slap Ryan, but stops with narrowed eyes and releases an angry hiss before dropping her hand and letting it hit her leg.

Ryan "I barely know your husband, Nyte. I'm just telling him what I think."

He turns to the bank and folds his arms, cantering his head to the side. "Besides, if I'm going to help out, then shouldn't I know what's been going on?"

Upon the approach of Erica, Ryan smiled an nodded as his greeting.

NyteShade Her hand lashes out with the speed of a striking viper and grips Ryan around the neck lifting him off his feet. Her golden-green eyes bore into his own as she forces the hedgehog to make eyecontact with her.

"My Baby is missing. My little Hope... My niece Crystal got pushed out a window. I'm rather upset about the whole thing, and now that you know, what do you think you can do about it? Can you find her any faster than I can? Now you can take your accusatory looks and turn them elsewhere, or I can rip your face off and make you eat it. It's your choice, Boy. Arjen's been doing the best he can which is a sight better than any of you other assorted wastrels. If it were up to me I'd have let you lot rot and stew in your own juices."

She tosses him to the ground with a grunt of disgust and wipes her gloved hand off on her leg.

"The only reason I'm here now is to insure that HE,"

She points at Arjen, over Ryan's shoulder.

"remains unhurt. I'm here as his backup, nothing more."

Ryan Hot tears of anger well in his eyes, but he wipes them away. It wasn't because he was hurt; he'd taken a beating much worse from her, but because she always had a way of making him feel useless.

"Then why doesn't he ASK for help?" Ryan hollored, springing to his feet. He indicated Arjen with his hand behind him, and continued talking as if he couldn't hear. "If he has friends willing to help him, then why doens't he use them, huh?"

The hedgehog, with a single tear trickling down his cheek, turns to face Arjen, finally speaking to him directly. "Why is it that you have to do everything alone. You 'super powered' need a lesson in teamwork."

He takes in a deep, calming breath. "I'm not trying to accuse anyone. Maybe I'm just as sick of this as you are. No doubt that this psycho guy we're dealing with has something to do with Hope missing. The only way we can find answers is in the bank."

NyteShade She works at controlling herself and the effort is visible. She extends a hand to him, a hesitant smile on her face.

"Look, I'm sorry I snapped. I'm just so worried about Hope. I'm afraid for her, what IF that monster does have her...She was comatose. She wouldn't be able to defend herself from him. Not to mention that feeling I had earlier in the night..."

She shakes herself as if physically supressing that memory.

"I just don't want any of my family hurt, surely you can appreciate that? I've done EVERYTHING to insure their safety. I sealed you away for the same reason, you know. My family is everything to me. I can't, I won't let anything endanger them...

Her face changes, gaining an icy look of cold determination.

"...and if answers are to be had inside that bank then I guess..."

She turns dropping her visor with a soft click and moving off as if she intends to cross the primeter and enter the bank.

Ryan Trotting up to her, Ryan grasps her arm and gives a light tug, looking up at her with pleading eyes. "Maybe you're trying to do too much on your own, too, then. Wait for more people to get here, Nyte and we can all help out. Those bullets are moot with me when I flare up my fire sheild. While the shooter is occupied with me, maybe you can take him out. Somebody else can lead the hostages to safety." He smiled inspite of himself. "Wait up for other people to show. The party doesn't start until you an' Arjen show up anyway."
UltraSonic A buzzing sound is heard as Alex approaches the block of Savott City where the bank is located at high rpm's. The sound slowly dies as he instinctively stops just short of the bank. A maneuver usually used to be deceptive about ones destination and intentions. It was of little importance, or use in this case, it was just force of habit. He briskly walked the rest of the way towards the perimeter where he could see other members of the SCPD, keeping his head down as he went.

"So, exactly what's the plan," said Alex when he reached the two of them.

Antipode "He's right, Shade," he says quietly, too engrossed in his own mental musings to interrupt their earlier debate. "Chaos readings are going crazy, otherwise this wouldn't be a big deal. We don't even know how many there are, so until we get something concrete to go on, we just stay out here and make sure no one gets hurt."
NyteShade "Then I guess it's time to send in a spy. "

She closes her eyes and her shadow detatches itself from the ground fading into three dementions and becoming a semi-formless shadow elemental.

"Go! Be my eyes inside that building!"

The thing wordlessly bows and sinks back into the groud, moving across it like a dark puddle. It slips up the wall of the bank and onto the roof dissappearing inside.

"Now to see what we can see."

Kyra Kyra arrives quietly walking along the most heavily-shaded side of the street.

"Hrm? What did I miss?"

She grins a little bit. "This place seems kind of hectic. Maybe not with people, but it just has a weird feeling to it."

Dredge The air inside the bank is of fear and stark confusion. Two dozen hostages, all in a row, huddled with their heads in their hands and wishing they had called their children to tell them they loved them. Where a traditional bank robbery would have those unfortunate few covered by numerous men in ski masks and automatic weapons, here there is nothing - merely a dark and foreboding presence that seems to come from the shadowed walls themselves.
NyteShade "There's no one even in there, I think the police force let them get away!"

She makes a sound of disgust and slips over the hood one one of the police cruisers. She walks to the door of the bank, kicking it in almost nonchalantly.

"Stupid hostages there's not even anyone in here..."

Dredge The glint of a weapon catches her eye a moment before the bullet catches her forehead. Before she can register the impact the apparition is gone, leaving behing no trace of the shooter but for a single whispered phrase,

"We warned you."

NyteShade Luckily for Nyte she was wearing her motorcycle helmet and so escapes the shot with her life intact, but the force of the bullet still lays her out on the floor.

"Bloody hell! If you're going to shoot me at least make your shot count! You can stick your warning where the sun doesn't shine for all I care!"

She sits up slowly, but doesn't make a move to take off the damaged helmet as she looks around for her assailant. It's already saved her life once today, best to keep it on. Seeing nothing she gorans and stands up.

"bloody savages."

She reaches out to touch one of the hostages, intent on teleporting them out of this hellhole.

Dredge Nyteshade feels an unseen force blocking the use of her powers in this place. The very effort backfires on her, shooting pressure and fire into her brain. Her vision blurs, and when it reorients itself a moment later she thinks she sees a new figure in the room, short but menacing, flowing red hair crowning a lithe and graceful body, clad in a black leather one-piece and holding a gun to her side.

"Why must you always interfere," she hisses. "We are not here for you."

NyteShade "H...Hope? Hope what are you doing in here...Are you okay Honey?"

She moves towards her, mind still disoriented, as if she hasn't even registered what this figure has just said. It had to be her, right? who else besides Jewel and Crystal would have the finesse enough to block her shadowmancy.

She smiles happily, relieved to have found her missing daughter.

"My god! You had us so worried, dissappearing from the hospital like that..."

UltraSonic "So uhh, just what do we do now?" Alex asked those who were still outside the bank, Ryan, Antipode, and Kyra. He would welcome an answer from any of them.
Dredge The girl sighs.

"Still dwelling on the past, mother?"

Her head droops to one side.

"Surely you recall how well that worked last time? No matter. You shan't be destroying my master this time. He has the city's best interests in mind, and no one who opposes him will be left standing."

One of the bank employees lifts her head to peek over the counter at them. Apex's eyes flare and she leaps on top of a desk, brandishing the weapon and pointing it at the woman.

"Did I say you could move! I do not recall saying you could move now get your head back down!"

She quickly ducks back down, fear filling in her eyes.

NyteShade "Apex...."

Nyte's whole body tensesand she growls at the girl's tone. when she leaps on the counter to confront the bank teller Nyte leaps up behind her silently, and as Apex turns she delievers a most vicious bachand to her face.

"I don't know how the heck you got back out, or resurfaced or whatever but I'm dadgum well going to put you back in the hellhole you crawled out of you dadgum devilspawn."

Dredge "Oh, do stop being dramatic, mother."

She glowers at Nyte and turns away, glancing down at her watch. She sighs.

"It appears he's not here. A pity."

She clicks back the slide on the pistol and turns to the hostages.

"Would anyone care to volunteer? It would make this so much easier."

NyteShade "I'm sorry hon, but I've always had a flair for the dramatic. I wanted to be an actress you know."

Her hands come up to rest on her hips.

Look we both know I can't beat you, especially when you're like that, but I will be forced to at least attempt to stop you and your master if you are going to attempt to rampage on these people. Oh by the way, who's not here?"

She releases a beleagured sigh, obviously this is not something she wants to do at all.

"Where is this master of your's anyway, I don't suppose he'd be willing to give me a sniper shot at him, will he? He seems smarter than Tenebras that way."

Dredge "Smart enough to bide his time while you and the village flunkies out there wander about aimlessly. Don't worry about anything happening to your 'little girl', there isn't a creature alive who can destroy me."

She grins wickedly.

"Great things are happening here, mother. You can either stand with us, step aside, or be swept away in the coming tide. The choice is entirely yours."

NyteShade "Be that as it may, Apex, I can't just sit idly by and let you kill these defenseless mortals."

She jestures at the frightened bank tellers.

"what kind of master picks on the weak and innocent?"

Antipode "I don't like this. She's been in there too long." he turns to those who had gathered on the bank steps. "If anyone has weapons, ready them. We go through those doors in five minutes."
Dredge "No one who steps aside is going to be hurt. As long as these sheep stay in line, they can all return to their families unharmed."

She gestures pointedly with the gun and the hostages flinch a little.

"And I'll be leaving soon, too. If you keep from doing anything stupid until then, I'll let you go, too."

NyteShade "you'll let me go?"

She has the audacity to scoff at that.

"I'll leave if I please, before you say or after, really Apex, you should know better. Just because I can't beat you blow to blow doesn't mean I'm not smarter than you. You've stilll got a lot to learn about life."

She huffs, turning away from the girl.

UltraSonic Alex did as he was told. He pulled up the shotgun, pumped it then replaced it it's sheath, then pulled the Uzi's out of his coat and cocked both of them then replaced them in his jacket, lastly he pulled the rifle off his back and ran the bolt on it then replaced it over his back. He pulled up the shotgun deciding he'd use it first.

"Ready when you are" was his only reply to Antipode's orders.

Ryan Ryan cocked his eyebrows to Alex's antics. He was speechless, actually.

"So, Mr. Arjen, if Nyte's been in there for this long, then does that mean there's probably something in there than just an armed robber?" He glanced at Alex's guns again. "And that guns probably won't help against the enemy?"

Sunny It was a roar. No, it wasn't a roar, it was the sound of a thousand angry, growling mezzo hornets as the hull of the sleek silver motor cycle revved over the edge of the highway overpass, and bounced into the street, fishtailing outside the bank. Syndrome leaves the motor running.

She rips off her helmet, throws it to the side, and sprints up to the group, ripping her slick black magnum pistol out of her side holster. The safety is not on; she's ready to let loose and fire.

Her curly lavender hair is matted against her head with sweat, her cheeks flushed and rosy. Her tight black vest is zipped up to the track collar, the white ribbon trim smeared with motor oil. She wears heavy, overused, overworn leather pants, with black leather motorcycling boots. Her gloves, which cling to her like a layer of paint, match.

"Where the hell is Nyteshade?"

Antipode "They probably won't," he replied to Ryan's question. "But we need all the manpower we can get, regardless of what weapons they're using."

He's surprised, to say the least, when Syndrome pulled up. He would have to ask her later what happened after she disappeared during the bakery incident. But now wasn't the time.

"She's inside already," he gestures up at the doors. "We were just about to head in after her. Care to join us?"

UltraSonic At hearing Antipode say that the crew was about to go in Alex shouldered the shotgun, though kept the muzzle pointed down. "Even if my weapons can't hurt whatever entity is in there, I'll do what I can to draw it's attention" Alex said. He'd faced a lot of entities with strange powers in his day, but one wielding chaos was alien to him.
Serrif " I have an attachment on my PDW which might be effective against Chaos Beings. It's some sort of energy weapon that a late contact of mine designed. Hopefully it'll do more than bullets can." Erika said, showing them the grenade launcher like weapon fixed to the underside of her gun.

"I'll give you lot some cover if you need it."

Sunny Syndrome nods, gives a heavy huff, and swipes a strand of lavender out of her face. She draws the back of her hand over her brow, with what is almost a bitter grimace; but it's necessary. She can't make these connections. Not when there were bullets to be fired. So she switched her emotion off, for now.

"Why are we waiting?"

Dredge Apex looks up as the doors swing open.

"Ah, here comes your goon squad now, mother."

She hops back off the counter onto the floor, idly twirling her pistol on a finger.

"So, what? Now we have an old bank shootout? He's already left with the money, you know. There's nothing left to recover."

She laughs at them.

NyteShade "Well then lets see what we can do about keeping you from escaping too, shall we?"

And with that Nyte lauches herself at Hope limeman style, intend on taking her down and pinning her to the floor.

"Don't suppose you care to surrender peacefully, do you?"

Dredge Apex's form begins to fade out from in Nyte's grip, her grin spreading like a Cheshire's from ear to ear.

"I'm afraid that's beyond the scope of this meeting."

Before Nyte can blink, her daughter is gone, and somehow masked from her senses as well. She is truly gone, again.

NyteShade "ROOOOAAARRRRR!!!"

Her scream of fury reverberates off the walls of the bank. Not only had she lost the money and the mastermind, but her daughter too. This was truely shaping up to be one of NyteShade's worst days.

Kyra "Something tells me," says Kyra hesitantly, "That we're just a little too late..."

Nyte's rage-filled scream sent a shiver down the neko's spine, and she just stood for a moment where she was. After little thought however, she shook her head a little. The curious thing however, was when the shells that had been laced into the ends of her hair clicked, it seemed to rain dust partials which gathered into her opened palms. Once an adequate amount had piled in her hand, she squeezed it and with out any further effects, a double-bladed scythe appeared in her hand.

”Well, there may be nothing left to do, but we should probably go and check it out, right?”

Ryan Ryan wordlessy passes Kyra in a dead sprint, leading the charge into the bank. A fire ball explodes through the door, and Ryan rolls inside, hands wrapped in flames and ready for a fight.

He's on the balls of his feet, searching for any sign of the enemy, but he finds no one except Nyte and hostages.

UltraSonic "Shall we go in? Or let him handle it by himself" commented Alex after what he considered to be a foolish display of bravado, and his tone reflected what he thought.
Antipode "Not wise. Come on."

He leads the charge up the steps into the bank, expecting the worst and surveying a relatively calm scenario. "Nyte...? What happened? Where are they?"

NyteShade "They're gone..."

She says distractedly. She looks over at Arjen, rage plain on her face.

"He's awakened Apex."

UltraSonic Not sure of who the enemy was at the time, Alex kept his shotgun shouldered and level, though didn't point it at anyone. He stood there silent until he learned more.
Antipode A bit of color drains from Antipode's face as those words leave Nyte's mouth. He comes up with a million questions, all of which he needs to ask and none which are suitable for the moment. His professionalism kicks in after just a moment and he finds the bank manager, asking what was stolen - everything - if everyone's okay - for the most part - and then gets things back the way they're supposed to be.
UltraSonic Alex grew tired of the silence very quickly. He knew the situation was tense and probably explosive so he decided to speak quietly to Antipode. "So, what happens next?" Alex asked Antipode as softly as he could, in a tone that Antipode himself likely found to be barely audible or discernable.

You aren't by any chance capable of telepathy by the way? Alex thought, directing the train of thought through the frontal lobe of the brain focusing on it's recipient {Antipode}, as he had once been taught.

Antipode //I'm a little busy for mindless shenanigans right now,// he projects back, //so if you have something worthwhile to offer, do it.//

He's already moved off to the back of the back, to inspect the cash vault with its scorched and shattered hinges. The door itself lays crumpled on the floor several feet away, sporting similar black marks matching those on the wall.

Spothespider Spo, an aged old Spider was making his way to the outside of the bank. "Finally" He said to himself.

"T-That cat gave me the right directions alright, but there was hardly anyone there! At least no one important I really needed to talk to" He said, he was tired, he wasn't as young as he use to. He saw that there was something up at the bank.

"Oh....Looks like I came at a bad time...." He sighed "Just me luck...."

He then folded his arms and sat down in the middle of the street. "I've had it! I'm old, I'm warn out and I'm fed up of walking around this city! I'm gonna wait here, until there's at least one high enough ranking member of the law enforcement around here ta talk to!" Spo shouted, just enough for people on the outside to hear him.

Serrif Erika turned round. The voice was familiar, but she didn't recognise the spider now, not after all this time. Nontheless, she went over to help. She tried to keep her machine gun out of view, not wanting to frighten anyone else. Hopefully she was "high ranking enough" to be worth his trouble.

"Excuse me sir, can i help you?"

UltraSonic I just thought this would make for a less public, more efficient method of communication, if it were possible. Alex thought in return and then finally rested the shotgun over his right shoulder.
Spothespider Spo looked up to the officer who spoke to her.

"Hmm...I was hopin' to speak to the police chief. But that's wishful thinking from me. So yeah ya can help me. I've been out of town for a while and I just got back. I thought going to the police would and asking them would help. Yeah, I know I'm wasting your time right now, but I'm in a determent mood right now Besides, you guys seem really busy recently. Why's that?"

Serrif "There's been a load of strange events recently. Back in may someone bombed a bakery, killed 2 people. Now we get this. Even more disturbing is that the city was more or less peaceful for the last 10 years or so. Just after we finish rebuilding someone seems intent on tearing the city down." Erika said, a hint of worry in her voice. She hoped the city would be able to finally get back on its feet.

"The city is basically defended by a voulenteer force made up of adventurers who live in the city. Savott lost most of its official police staff in the Fallout 14 years ago. We have various Guilds in the city, this paticular one," she said, gesturing to the people outside the bank "is SCPD, Savott City Protection and Defence. They need all the people they can get."

Spothespider "All the help you can get, eh? Well, I've got enough problems of my own thanks" The Spider said getting up.

"But, if you need help, and you very well will need it, use this little rune stone of mine." Spo looked around his belt and found a small pouch, he opened it and took out a falt stone that could fill the palm of any person within the city and gave it to Erika. It had a strange marking on it, looked somewhat of an 'X' and a 'M' mixed together.

"It's not much, it just brings a small of protection to whoever holds it. Didn't do too much for me while I was on my travles, but hey.....Could be different for you."

Spo began to walk away from the scene but stopped. He turned to her.

"I'm sorry, But I get the feeling we've met before. The Name's Spo. Yours?"

Serrif "Spo eh? That does sound familiar. My name is Erika Hunt." She said looking at the stone Spo had just given her.

" I don't suppose you were involved with N-Gen, were you?"

Spothespider "N-gen? Pfft, don't remind me.....Erika....Hmm...From what I remember from that whole ordeal I was working with alot of of people, so forgive me if I can't quiet remember ya. But, anyway, I better track down my family or find a place. And while I'm here I think I'll help you law enforcers out as much as I can."

Spo was just about to walk off again, but stops and looks to Erika.

"But, I really do remember a few people really well from the N-gen inserdent. There was a small fow girl....Meryl I think her name was. What's she been up to after all these years?"

Serrif Erika looked shocked as he mentioned Meryl's name. She turned her head to look away from him, obviously uncomfortable with the question.

"I'd rather not talk about Meryl. We've had a few... disagreements over the years."

UltraSonic Alex had waited long enough. "Look, I hate to speak out of line here, but we've got a job to do, what next?" He said, his impatience showing in his voice.
NyteShade Nyte whirls to face Alex. she has something of a sneer on her face.

"unless you've got some godly ability to track someone who fades away at the drop of a hat like a chesire cat, then I'm afraid we actually have very little in the way of things to do."

Her sarcasm and scorn are evident in her voice. It's hard to tell if she's just projecting them on Alex and she's mad at something else, or if Alex really is the source of her ire.

UltraSonic Alex was out of rank and he knew it. He also wasn't afraid of Nyteshade, or Antipode for that matter.

"Vanishing like that would take an enormous amount of energy, there's got to be a trace of it left behind., but God only knows how long we have to find it." Alex responded. Not the least bit put off by Nyte's scorn. Alex's demeanor had not changed, though his tone of voice was more reasonable.

Serrif "If we can't track them, then maybe we'll just have to find them the old fashioned way." Erika snapped, evidently irritated. Erika knew very well that Nyte was far more experienced than either herself or Alex, but she guessed they both had some military experience and were used to hunting down individuals.

"Do we know... anything about this person. Where they might go? Where they live, anything!" Erika said in an irate manner. " We might as well give ourselves something to do instead of wasting our time standing around here waiting for them to turn up again!"
