| Antipode | Dear
Friends, Family, and Strangers, Work has been progressing swiftly on the reconstruction of our great city, and I hope no one is growing faint for all of our efforts. To help alleviate some of our collective weariness, my family has graciously agreed to open our home to all of you for a full-day open house at our estate in Asvanti. Anyone and everyone is very welcome to attend, so please don't hesitate to join us any time tomorrow from nine in the morning until as late into the night as we please. Hope to see you there! ~AE
[OPEN THREAD][GATHERING] - Friendly meeting-place thread for characters to talk, all plots aside.
The estate itself is two stories tall, not including basement or attic. Entering up the stone steps, between two tall marble pillars, you'd find yourself in a foyer with vaulted ceiling, adorned with paintings and small statuettes on wooden stands along the walls. To the left is the living room; to the right, the dining room; behind an ornate spiraling staircase with polished banister, doors to the den and kitchen at the back of the house. The living room was all set up for company, with plush leather and silk chairs and couches arranged in a friendly circle along with walls, a fireplace lying dormant on one side. The den was more cozy and intimate, with just one broken-in leather sofa facing the television, sliding glass double-doors leading out to the well-kept gardens in the back: Nyte's personal project for several years. The long table in the dining room was adorned with flowers from Nyte's garden and made up with place settings for a meal for the guests later on in the evening. Every member of Antipode's family had been aware of the get-together for some time; some of them even decided to help get ready for it.
Jewel Timothius finishes tracing the rune on the basement wall with her finger; the design flares brightly once before disappearing to the naked eye. She releases a little sigh as she completes her task. Most of her day had been spent renewing the old safety seals around the house and establishing new ones at key locations. The simple fact was that the Evangel household was not a place in which to go wandering about. Arjen and Nyte's career as adventurers had led to a not insignificant collection of mystic artefacts and dangerous devices that they kept stashed away, just in case. They certainly didn't need any overambitious houseguests poking around where they oughtn't. Her proximity seals would keep anyone out of harm's way -- specifically, the basement staircase from the kitchen, the backyard any farther than the stream that ran through the garden and, quite obviously, her room -- by not permitting anyone but her to pass through them. The rest of the runes would simply shield the entire estate itself from prying psychic eyes; such a large collection of super-powereds in one place would be a delicious target for some, and the less who knew about it, the better. Jewel nods satisfactorily for her work and returns to help Nyte with the rest of the preparations.
"Dude, this totally sucks," Zander sighs heavily to the ceiling and frowns. "I don't wanna buncha strangers running around in our house. I don't care if they are mom and dad's friends or not." "Tell me about it," Kali replies from his bed across the room. "We're going to spend an entire day of our vacation from school staying here and doing nothing." "They could have at least let Mara and Lanni come over, then we'd at least have some company. If you know what I mean." Kali rolled over and looked over at his brother. "They told you that? I invited Lanni over anyway." "Wha- You serious? I just figured..." He thinks for a moment, then rolls his eyes and grabs his phone from the desk beside his bed, dialing his girlfriend's number.
"YAY, a party! Par-ty, par-ty!" Crystal was singing exuberantly and twirling around the house, patently ecstatic that people were coming over. "Maybe I could get someone to play checkers with me. Oh, or fight me! No one every wants to fight me around here, maybe a new person would!" She skips around, alternating between asking her mum and Aunt Nyte what she can do to help get ready, and completely forgetting what she was told in the wake of her excitement and wandering off. She keeps an eye on the gate out front, disappearing and reappearing in puffs of black smoke with little or no warning in various corners of the estate grounds. The only thing that could make her any more bouncy would be sugar; and Jewel is afraid that the introduction of that ingredient to her system would create a supernatural incident, what with all of the girl's yet-untamed power base, so Crys is kept far away from the cookies while waiting for the company to arrive. |
| NyteShade | "crystal
would you like a cookie?" Nyte askes her this, one in hand even though she knows she shouldn't give her one. she picks it up putting it aside on the counter while she moved the other refreshments onto the island in their kitchen. she ran down the checklist mentally of everything that was there...Everything looked in order. she left orchid to finsh while she went to arrange fresh floowers in the entryway, the dinning room, and living room, sprusing them up with her powers. She leans over, inhaling the aroma from a large arrangement of fresh roses, that she has rather creatively decoratated with dew. "Lovely." |
| Wind | Up the front
steps trotted a familliar elf bearing a jiggling jello mold in hand. For
once the mess on his head called hair was moved into a somewhat acceptable
shape.
"H'Okay, looks like I'm one of the first ones..." He nodded in vague approval of the well kempt lawn and rang the doorbell with his toe. Does a well groomed, bare lawn really equal success, he wondered? |
| Fireball | "Mmm,
cookies." The bronzen fox with sunshades picks up a cookie from
the neatly arranged plate and chews noisily. How did he get in? Do you really
want to know? His face scrunches up in disgust. He puts the half-eaten cookie
back on the plate.
"Oh, jeez, where is the food that Antipode baked? Shade, you are an awful cook." He was mostly talking to himself, but he figured she could probably hear him. |
| Antipode | "Better
put those down then, luv,"
comes a voice from behind him. "She spent all
morning on those."
|
| Fireball | Fireball,
instead of turning around, put both hands on the table surface and leapt
up so that he was doing a hand-stand on the table. He stretched his legs
out in front and behind him, like doing the splits upside down, then straigtened
them up, then he dropped them back down the other way.
"Hi....uh..... It's Gem or Diamond or something, right?" |
| Antipode | "Yes,
and you're 'Flaming Balls' or something like that? I believe we've met before,
but I've heard quite a lot about you."
She canters her head to one side in amusement, crosses her arms, and does
not extend her hand. "And would you mind not doing handstands on our kitchen table, I spent quite some time this morning polishing it." |
| Fireball | "Oh,
sure." He twists his legs and tail, helicoptering into the air,
body-flips and lands facing her on the opposite side of the table.
"So my reputation proceeds me. All good things, I trust." He smiles sweetly. Then changes his expression as his attention shifts dramatically. "Say, where's Mrs Evangel?" |
| Ryan | Ryan turns
and stares at the estate, cantering his head to catch the full height of
the building. But he couldn't because it was too big.
Oh wait... the cookies, he'd forgotten. Ryan is dressed in green denim shorts that reach just above the knees. A button down shirt tucked into the matching shorts hangs losely off his body and a few scatterings of pins and medals for various things. Finally, he's got on a green cap, and on it is an orange patch with a tiger's paw. A boyscout. The hedgehog tucked the box of cookies under his left arm and he clutched the order forms in his right arm. Grumpily he stomped up to the estate and pressed the doorbell. |
| Antipode | Crystal flails. "I'LL GET IT!!" she screams and sprints for the door, ripping it open. "Hey, Ryan!!" she jumps out on the step exuberantly. "You look funny." |
| Ryan | He steps back, looks up and then returns his look to Crystal again, repeating this sequence four times before realization fully set in. "You live here?" |
| Wind | "Thanks,
Antie. Happy Thursday and all."
Wind trotted through the home, appreciating how well arranged and layed out it was. He was so appreciative he took one small detour, then another, and another. It wasn't long before the elf was downright lost and merely saying he was taking detours as an excuse. "Um, right, I was in here...it's very nice and all...." After several attempts of taking two lefts and a right, two rights and a left, and several other maze solvers he found himself back at the entrance with the soles of his shoes a tad thinner. From there he made a beeline for the kitchen only to encounter a grinning Fireball "So I'm not the first schmuck here." He grinned and helped himself to one of the cookies on the trays. He chewed a few times, his expression turning from a grin to a grimace to final appreciation of the bitter flavor "Not bad." |
| Fireball | Fireball
rolls his eyes, you can tell because his head moves a little too. "You
know elves have bizarre tastes." Fireball gives this a bit of thought,
apparently its something he's never really considered before.
"Yeah, you're an elf, what's with that? I didn't know that elves were... like... real." The fox pokes him accusingly in the ribs. |
| Wind | Wind
popped another cookie in his mouth and chewed it over thoughtfully
"Well I never knew there could be a city full of so many super powered animals, but that's life. The stuff that seems most unlikely happens every day." He grinned wildly, cocking his head to the side slightly "Just so you know, I'm the only elf with weird tastes. The rest are quite content with their leaves." |
| Fireball | "Leaves huh?.... that's great.... really" Fireball was looking around the room. He was quite clearly very bored. "So, like, is there video games? Lets go play video games.... Where's Shade-ee?" |
| Wind | "Well,
after my, um, tour of the house I saw the video games under lock
and key in the living room. No sign of Shade-ee though. Now the ADD meds
should be in a cabinent somehwere."
He nibbled another bitter cookie while leaning against the kitchen table. A party just isn't a party unless you've got hijinks or more than four people. Sadly they had neither. |
| Antipode | "Sorry about this, you guys," Antipode sighs as he comes into the living room. "I really expected more people to show up. I know the host isn't supposed to apologize for a lousy party, but..." he shrugs helplessly. |
| Fireball | Fireball
leaned backwards, holding himself up with his tail, he was able to get a
45 degree angle, from the front it would have looked like he was lying on
an invisible hill, then he pushed himself back upright.
"Lock and key, A-D-D, lock and key, A-D-D." He was mumbling to himself. Then he remembers something he'd been meaning to ask. "So tell me, elf-boy. How come everyone keep asking YOU about Syndrome. I didn't realise you guys were friends, was that something that happened while I was... uh... deceased?" |
| Wind | "No
worries, 'Pode. No one's dead yet so it's all good. Plus the cookies taste
good and bitter."
He wasn't sure if the last bit helped lighten the air any, but he tried. His ears pricked up as Fireball came out of his mutterings and threw him a question straight out of left field. His ears twitched a bit as his brain shot through his store of vocabulary for the right words. "Uh, we actually knew each other before you took your vacation from life. While you were gone life kept moving and we got to know each other better. As of right now we're pretty close and dating. I'm not sure what all went on between you two, but, yeah....heh." His ears ceased twitching once it was out in the air. It was awkward, but it had to be said. At least it was out there now. |
| Fireball | There
was a distinct shift in Fireball's posture. His relaxed agitation suddenly
sharpened, hardened, tensed. His ears perked up like they were standing
to attention and his sharp canine teeth looked a lot sharper when he didn't
have his cheeky smile on. He took a step forward towards Wind, and his new
stance was overbearing and aggressive. His words were short and tightly
cut; the question he asked was partly because he didn't believe what he'd
heard, and also to give his mind time to process the information.
"I'm sorry, what?" |
| Wind | Wind didn't
blink. His face still showed his smile and his stance was relaxed. Sure
he felt threatened, but getting tense and tight wasn't his style of aggression.
He kept smiling while he spoke.
"Yup, we're dating. Oye this must be weird to hear." |
| Antipode | "Gentlemen, if you don't mind," Antipode interjected, "my wife and I spent most of the morning getting this floor clean, so try not to get any blood on it, kay? We have a wonderfully expansive yard out back if you'd rather use that, and an A.I.-controlled dynamic gym if you want to burn off some of that excess testosterone." He directs that last part at Fireball, since as one of the former hedgehog's (only?) friends, he knew how the guy could be when his hackles were bothered to be raised. |
| NyteShade | "...is
someone getting my floor dirty?" Nyte come in carrying a flower arrangement to put on the island beside them. She smiles and hugs Wind. "I'm so glad you could make it. I know there's so much going on in the city right now, what with the crazy guy running around and destroying things." She notices the fox, almost absently, then the cookies. "Oh Wind, I see you've been trying some of the 100% natural cookies I made. I hope they're good, most people would think they're kind of bland, they don't have any processed sugar in them. Arjen tried to get me to make one of my cakes instead, but I convinced him that they were healthy and therfore better." She takes off her apron, hanging it on a peg beside the stove. then extends her hand to the fox. "Hello, I don't believe we've had the pleasure to be introduced. My Name is Nyte Evangel. You must be one of Wind's frineds. Pleasue enjoy your visit to our house." |
| Fireball | Fireball
mentally acknowledged Antipode's flippancy, and NyteShade's arrival and
polite introduction. He choses to ignore them both, save for a small smile
at the side of his mouth.
He moves towards Wind like a juggernaut, he raises his arms and shoves him backwards by pushing his shoulders. This brings Wind up against the kitchen wall. He keeps moving 'til he has Wind pinned on the wall and grips him tightly around the neck, gazing angrily into his eyes, snarling, letting out a low growl. "You're dating Syndrome?" He speaks softly but hearing himself say it out loud seems to make him more angry. The anger breeds strength he didn't know he had and he lifts up the wood elf and throughs him through the kitchen window. The glass shatters dramatically, and Fireball leaps out of the window, curling into a ball. He may not have razor spikes anymore but the impact of the attack alone should cause damage. |
| Wind | "Fast...."
Wind barely had time to react as he hurtled through the window, He hit the ground in a roll and pushed himself off the ground to his feet. Just in to duck Fireball's cannonball charge, but not without getting grazed on his crown. He stumbled backwards and planted his foot in the ground for support. "Yeesh, easy there, Sunshine." The elf dropped his arms, letting them hang at his sides loose and relax. A strange smile came over him. This was going to be fun. "Let's rock and roll, boys and girls." |
| Fireball | If Fireball had been thinking straight he'd have been cautious of the fact that Wind looked relaxed and hadn't counter-attacked. But instead he righted himself, brushed his arms down to get rid of glass shards, the leapt up in the air with a grunt, spinning around and extending one leg, planting a helicopter kick on the side of Wind's face. |
| Wind | He slid with
the kick, clamping his hands down on the fox's leg and swung him about in
a full circle before slamming him into the ground like he was a hammer.
Satisified Wind let go and leapt back, feeling the welt on his cheek with
his thumb.
"How do you like me now?" |
| Fireball | ~~Rock and
roll, boys and girls? How do you like me now? Jeez, I'm fighting a geek.~~
The fall dazed him slightly. Too confident, he'd left himself open. Nevertheless, he was easily able to curl and dash, speeding forward and knocking Wind's feet from under him. ~~Need more rings...~~ A line of rings caught Fireball's eye. He clicked his Light Speed Dash boots on and was instantly transported to the top of the marble fountain, where the rings ended. He felt energised. |
| NyteShade | Fireball
is knocked from his purch by a bolt of force that hits him like a mailed
fist, flattening him to the ground on his stomach with crushing accuracy.
It presses harder against him, trying obviously to crush him into a bronze
colored smear on the ground. The elf isnt fairing much better, He has suddenly
found himself entrapped in a fair amount of fast growing creeping vines
with black blossoms and fanged mouths. Nyte drops almost languidly to the
pavement between them, have stuck with near lethal accuracy, and she doesn't
seem inclined to release either one of them, at the moment. She stares at
the fox a hard frown marring her face. If looks could kill, the one one
the fox gets would level 12 grown men. "You will not fight on my property." She glances over at Wind. "You okay, elf boy?" |
| Wind | Wind shrugged
nonchalantly in his cage of vines.
"Yeah, I'll be alright. Can't move, but alright." |
| Fireball | The hit
itself, the fall from the fountain to the grass, and the attack's continuing
force all deal a good share of damage to Fireball, and his rings fly out
in all directions. The crushing force makes it difficult for him to breath,
forget moving.
He looks up and sees his fallen rings around him. He clicks on his boots and at near-light speed he is able to escape the spell's hold on him. Taking time to collect only a few of the remaining rings, he speeds towards the ensnared elf. "Stay out of this, Princess," he barks at NyteShade as he jets past her. With the speed built up, he grabs Wind around the waist and is able to rip him from the vines that hold him down. They snap loudly as they are broken. Then he shifts the elf in front of him to use him as a human (elven?) shield as he crashes perilously though the Evangel's front door, knocking it off its hinges and sliding it across the floor, with Fireball pinning Wind down on top of it. |
| NyteShade | A vein in
Nyte's forehead pulses, and her eye ticks in fury. " Jewel do be a dear and mind knife that foolish fox before I'm forced to take rather drastic action..." She dusts an imaginary speck of dust from her dress, barely able to keep her temper in check and restrained. "He's destroying my house, I'm not too fond of that....In fact it rather puts me out." |
| Antipode | Before either Fireball or Wind can register what Nyte's said, Jewel is there, emerging from a wreath of shadowed flame that they recognise as NyteShade's shadow teleport. Jewel had spent much time in the realm of Nyte's father, dabbling in the art of shadowmancy that her sister had used countless times in combat to her advantage. Now she uses it to step across the yard effortlessly and jab two fingers against Fireball's left temple. Her psychic attack is assured and invasive, piercing straight through the fox's psyche and piercing the functions of his motor cortex, creating blocks before he can take a breath and paralyzing him from the waist down. For a creature of speed, there could surely be no greater torment. "That," she says simply, looking down at his form as he collapses to the grass, "will be enough of that, thank you." |
| Fireball | Fireball
looked in pain as he fell to the cold floor in the entrance hallway. He
looked up to see Jewel looming over him.
He worked it out, he could still move his hands, so he'd grab her, pull her down, litrally bend her arm into freeing him... but then what? Take on the whole Evangel family AND Wind? He sighed in frustrated resignation. "So what, pointy-ears? You wait 'til I'm out of the way and then move in on my girlfriend? Thought we were friends." He says this while lying on the floor staring at the ceiling. |
| Wind | Wind puts
his hands behind his head and lays there on the broken door as if he were
relaxing on the beach. He takes a deep breath and let's out a long sigh
as he stares at the celing.
"It's not so much I moved in as we bumped into each other and stayed there. Sorry, I'm know that doesn't help, but...I guess you just gotta go with the flow." |
| Kyra | Unintentionally,
Kyra walks in on thsi scene, having arrived at the house and wandeed around
a bit. "Rather empty in here, huh?" Her hands
steadied a large tray of cookies and cupcakes and brownies, still warm
from the oven with the lovely smell of baked goods shifting around it. She noticed
both the elf and the fox, smiled and greeted them warmly. |
| Fireball | Fireball
sighed. It would be a lot easier to hate Wind wasn't such a nice guy.
"Look, dude, I need to talk to Syndrome about this. So... just tell me where she is and I'll have a word with her, all right?" Fireball turned his head to Jewel. His voice was slightly pleading but slightly sarcastic at the same time. "Err... little help here? I promise not to destroy your home." Finally he addressed Kyra. "Oh, hey catgirl....do those brownies have nuts in them?" |
| Antipode | Jewel glares,
crosses her arms, and thinks about that for a second, evidently weighing
the pros and cons of having him loose in the house again in her mind. Eventually
she releases a little sigh and grabs him by the ear, cancelling the paralysis
and hauling him painfully to his feet. "Behave
now." "Ow..." Fireball growls, rubbing his ear. "That hurt." She gives him a look that's unnervingly placid, her head cantered wistfully to one side. "You're lucky that's all I'm letting you off with. I've imparted much more serious an injury for less." She turns back to the remains of the patio door scattered all over the lawn and spreads her arm out. All of the tiny glass fragments shiver and leap through the air toward her outstretched hand. They stop short of actually piercing her palm, gathering together in a growing spiked sphere in her mental hold. After all of the glass has been collected again she places her hands together, the glass melting to liquid between them and flowing out gracefully to the frame of the door, bonding itself to the shards of glass remaining in the corners and reforming the door itself. The glass solidifies, appearing like nothing had ever happened to it in the first place. Jewel suddenly has an urge to check her seals, to make sure none of the other 'guests' had disturbed them, and heads back for the house. |
| NyteShade | "Really!
It's none of your business who Syndrome dates." Nyte snarls down at the still prone fox. She's tempted to kick him somewhere painful, after all he had invaded her house, without her permission, with no invitation, she didn't even know who he was, and he'd WRECKED her house. "I dislike gatecrashers, I don't think you were invited, I don't even know how you got in." |
| Fireball | Fireball
looks enraged at her, spinning to address her. Lashing out at Fireball just
now had a similar effect to going up to a grizzly bear on hornets nest and
poking it with a stick.
"It's PRECISELY my business who Syndrome dates! And for god's sake do you know what the words "Open House" mean? Or are you too busy rolling around in luxury while SVT City is struggling to function!" Fireball was clenching and unclenching his fingers at the end of his white glove-covered open palms. He was itching to hit something, and was clearly holding himself back. |
| NyteShade | She laughs
at him. A chuckle, like a parent might a naughty child. "You don't even KNOW Syndrome. I don't even know why you care about Savott City, but hey, where do you think the money and supplies are coming from, my company has devoted quite a bit of money to rebuilding efforts, I've devoted time to the orphaned children, not to mention, getting them food and clothing from my PERSONAL funds. Don't presume..." She moves closer to him, poking a finger into his face. "to accuse ME of not doing anything, its seems to me you're all bark and no bite. what have YOU been doing to help out? She turns a half turn away from him strolling back into the house. |
| Fireball | It didn't
really matter what she said because after "You don't even know Syndrome"
all he saw was red and all he heard was white noise.
He clicked his shoes together, took two deep breaths, then charged at her. His velocity quickly increased to near-light speed as he shoulder-barged Nyte's back. The resulting momentum knocked the two of them right through the wall of the house, there was a resounding crash, bricks, wood and mortar splintered across the whole room and the whole house shook. Being behind her, Fireball hadn't felt as much of the impact but still his shoulder cracked painfully and some rings were left in his path. They found themselves in a library, with lots of books and display cabinets full of trophies and artifacts. |
| Antipode | Antipode
has his arm locked around Fireball's neck before the fox even knows what's
going on, and is dragging him back through the wall and out into the backyard.
Jewel's eyes narrow and she straightens slightly. Granted, the physical seal she put up around the library wasn't meant to be that strong - and it's not like she anticipated someone going through a wall - but she never appreciates having her defences compromised, much less by some chauvanistic hot-head with relationship issues. Her eyes wander down to the shattered display case, knowing that any one of those artefacts inside could do a fair amount of physical, magical, planar, or meta-psychic damage in the wrong hands. While Arjen was running damage control, she would have to put the room back together. That did seem to be in her job description. Antipode throws Fireball onto the grass in back, sighing and crossing his arms. "I'd really hate to ask you to leave, FB, but you're not giving me much choice here..." |
| Fireball | There
was a moment, a handful of seconds, where Wind's calm, apologetic disposition,
Nyte's lack of being-able-to-put-two-and-two-together and Antipode's reasonability
and rationality, sunk in with Fireball, and he was able to relax his temper.
It's probably for this reason that he was able to exercise an amount of
patient in his next action.
The next action was to stand up, show his teeth, which seemed larger than before, float two inches off of the ground, and proclaim: "Echidna, get out of my way." |
| Antipode | "You start trouble in my own house and then attack my wife?" He blinks simply and his ears flatten against his head. "You're going to have to make me." |
| Kyra | Kyra watches from the 'sidelines', baked goods in hand, a slightly interested look nessled over her face. Her eyes shined with curiosity, but she wasn't stupid enough to involve herself. For this, she would just be a observer. |
| Fireball | "Done!"
Fireball's leg springs up and thwacks Antipode in the jaw. He then flips backward and lands on all fours. He builds up a spindash and fires himself back towards the house. In no time flat he has entered through the gaping hole in the wall, that hadn't yet been fully repaired. He stops, still on all fours, in the library and surveys the room. There he takes large breaths, and as he does his chest seems to increase in size, and his upper body becomes more muscular. He eyes the other occupants of the room and looks angry. Very angry. He gets up and dashes through a doorwar, heading back to the main entrance hall, where he left Wind. |
| NyteShade | Nyte's hurt enough to actually stay down, craddling her side that's been ripped open in a rather deep gash from some curio or relic in the bookcase, but upon the fox's attack on Antipode, she stands up, stepping quietly out into the hall. About that time, the fox is heading back inside too. she stares at his retreating form before she lashes out quite suddenly, grabbing his shoulder in a vise like grip. She says not a word, her claws digging deeper and deeper into his flesh, striking the bone. Her other hand wraps around his neck, constricting his airway. and the whole time, she says not a word. Gone are the snide remarks and the parlor shadow tricks, replaced by a killing intent who's intensityis frightening. She lifts him off the ground slamming his head back into one of the marble pillars in the entryway. she doesn't seem inclined to stop either, even though the stone tile floor beneath them is quickly covered in a rapidly spreading pool of her own blood. The exertion causes a trickle of blood to flow from the corner of her mouth, evidence of internal bleeding, but it doesn't slow her as she jerks her claws from his shoulder and punches him across the jaw. She is obviously going to kill him, given half the chance. |
| Fireball | Fireball, or the creature he was becoming, roars in horror and pain as his shoulder is crushed. When she retreats her hand, he finds himself petrified with pain, and unable to run away. From the open wound, visible flames lick out of his flesh, as if his insides are made of fire. The fire seems to actually be healing his wound. After being struck on the face. He lashes out and bites her fist, with an equally devastating effect as her claws. His teeth are almost four times larger, and his upper body muscles grow and develop more and more. |
| Nyteshade | She releases a sibilant hiss of pain as the bones in her hand are broken but it doesn't stop her from strangling him with her good hand. She's so intent on crushing his windpipe she hasn't even noticed that her vision is blurred from bloodloss. |
| Cerberus1986 | Djinn was flying by, enjoying the fact that his past was still, in the past. He looked down on the ground that was going by, and saw the fight happening between the few mystically gifted people. (Well, Evangels against an enemy, or at least, a nemisis. I wonder, who's going to win. Might as well land and take a look.) Djinn dove down and landed next to a tree, he walked over to the tree and leaned against it, hopeing that since he was close to the bout, that he wouldn't get hurt. He doubted it, becuase he knew that the nemisis the Evangels were fighting, was pretty much, battle crazy, and pretty much of an arrogant @$$hole. |
| Fireball | Gradually, as he is chocked, he loosens his jaw-grip on her hand to the point where she is able to tear it free. He struggles for a bit, trying to tear her hand away from his neck. When this fails he delivers two kicks in the shin with the force of mallett. |
| Antipode | The air behind Fireball's head is rent, and from a burst of shadow springs a black furball with gleaming green eyes. A burning pain lances through the fox's shoulders as Crystal digs her claws into his back, growling ferally. She always knew Fireball was a jerk, from the moment she met him in the SCPD office, but attacking her Aunt and Uncle was just too much. While, under normal circumstances, she would wait for her services to be called on, in this situation she deemed it necessary to simply take action on her own. She hold on tight to his back, five little claws on each hand digging deep grooves into his flesh. |
| Cerberus1986 | (Why'd I even bother landing?) Thought Djinn as he continued to watch the bout happening in front of him. Then the smell of food wafted in front of him, he noticed that the smell was coming from the house. (Well, while I'm here, might as well get a good look of the house and get something to eat.) Thought Djinn as he headed around the massive fight, He then saw a catgirl with a tray of baked goods. He headed to the catgirls side. "Hi, names Djinn Babyl, what's yours?" |
| Fireball | As Fireball's
flesh is torn from his back, visible flames pour out, as if instead of blood.
First blue, they turn green, then turn the yellow and red of wood fire.
He howls in pain as he appears half-engulfed in flame. Still trapped in
Nyte's grip, he uses the strength of her arm to pull himself up, lift his
legs into the air, into a crouch position, the launches them out, delivering
a two-footed kick to the face.
Meanwhile, in a smashed display cabinet, three rocks are displayed proudly. One of them is glowing with a neon light and spinning slightly. One of the others is starting to do the same. The third is already pulsing very slightly and has tilted on its side. |
| Kyra | Kyra eyes
the stones, slightly interested, but after a moment's thought, looks to
Djinn. She takes his hand abruptly and shakes it in greeting. "Hey." she smiles. "The name's Kyra, pleased to meetchas. Would ya like a cookie?" Her eyes wander back to the fight. She was, curious [to say the least] about the lack of blood comming from the hedgehog, and as well was a bit worried about the wounds each fighter had already recieved, so soon in the 'battle'. ~I suppose it really is a battle,~ she mused. ~To call it anything less would be an insult to the combatants.~ "Now I'm thinkin' that I shoulda made popcorn instead though. The nasty turn of events has lead to quite an interesting display of power. Entertainment that can only be further hightened if one were involved in it...." She leans
back against the wall lazily. |
| NyteShade | At any rate, fireball may be getting a super charge from the tained gems in the desplay case, but that doesn't stop nyte from flying back into the case from his well placed kick...to land on top of all three gems, two of which shatter on impact, the sards digging into her flesh and causing her to groan in pain. the first sounds she's made in a while. |
| Fireball | The smashing
of the dark rocks seems to cause a reaction in Fireball. His muscles go
stiff and he appears to adopt a star shape. There is a large rushing noise
and a black cloud streams out of his eyes, nose and open mouth. He then
collapses to the floor as the fire that surrounded him rises up out of his
body, setting the ceiling on fire in the process.
Next, the lights in the room, including the sunlight and the light from the fire, go out. All noises stop too, the whooshing, the crackling of the fire, the panting of the fighters and the tinkling of fallen glass. All is dark, all is silent... |
| Cerberus1986 | Djinn was about to reply to Kyra's question when the strange darkness enshrouded them all. (Not good.) Thought Djinn as he unsheathed both of his swords. He tried to position himself to protect Kyra. |
| Kyra | Kyra placed
her hand on Djinn's shoulder, not able to make out his form in the comsuming
darkness, but remembering where he was standing. He could hear a voice in his head, no more than a whisper amidst his thoughts. *Worry about yourself, not me.*
|
| Fireball | There is
a Horror movie scream and light and sound return to the room. The scream
does not cease, as 'images' of Fireball seem to appear and disappear throughout
the room. Always as whitish transparent ghosts, he seems to flash on and
off before you can be sure what you've seen. Some are of fox Fireball, others
of hedgehog Fireball. All of them seem to be in pain.
Furthermore, all those involved in, or witnessing the event, suddenly find themselves with a splitting headache. The pain branches out to stiff muscles and a sharp pain in the back and stomach, growing to a point where their whole body is in agony. |
| Antipode | Crystal, along with the rest of the people in the house, staggers around a little under the supernatural bombardment of the senses. Her unique artificial physiology gave her a resistance to the effects, but not enough to bar it completely, and her knees eventually give way to drop her to the glass shard-strewn carpet. She tries looking around and what's causing the event, her large green eyes obviously allowing her feline darkvision, but the ringing in her mind makes that vision blur slightly as she tries to focus. |
| Fireball | Still empowered by the Pain Dark Emerald, the ghostly Fireball shoots up into the air at an outrageous speed, shattering his way through brick, wood and mortar in his path, and erupts from the roof of the building, causing even more destruction. There is another pain filled scream as the world seems to fix itself, sound and vision return to those it was taken from. The extensivley damaged building is still burning and some priceless artificats lie in ruins. The white figure that vaguley resembled Fireball disappeared into the sky and the horizon. |
| Cerberus1986 | Djinn sensed that some dangerous thing had left them, He also had regained his sight as well as his hearing. He looked around noticing that everyone had either gotten hurt pretty in that, interesting event. He finally had at least crawled his way to a standing position, leaning on an exposed beam of some sort. "Okay, What in the FECK happened?!" Said Djinn to the other people in the some what wrecked room. |
